Got a baby sitter for tonight and gonna take the Shebabe out for a night of music. Our old friend Bill Kirchen is playin' at the Annandale Grill. Bill tries to play there every Thursday night if he's in town. He was Nick Lowe's guitar player last time Nick was on the road. He was the original Commander Cody/Lost Planet Airmen guitarist and he wrote Hot Rod Lincoln. But this is so cool cause the Annandale Grill can only hold about 50 people and if you show up there on Thursdays to hear Bill play and do it regularly - you are a Grillbilly.

The Shebabe and I will do some shots tonight!!!!! First time out "like this" in two years - since the baby was born.

Side story: Last time Kirchen was in NYC at the Bottom Line, opening for Junior Brown - I showed up for rehersal - cold - Bill didn't have a clue I was comming. We had dinner together, caught up on DC skuttlebutt and he got me in free. Nice guy - you all should buy one of his CD's.

I must always promote my friends music. Go cats, go!!!
