Whenever I whip up a batch of Paper Planes [fn1], I cue up M.I.A.'s Paper Planes as I serve them. But now the song just came on, and I'm suddenly craving the cocktail. It's not even 1 pm. Doh.

Fn1. Equal parts bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice. I recommend Wathen's for the bourbon.

Are you trying to steal my heart?

A bourbon girl. ;)

Bourbon is indeed my spirit of choice. My go-to sipper is Maker's Mark - the assertive sting as it slides down the throat is delicious. But Maker's is not suited, at all, for the Paper Plane. Completely overwhelms the citrus notes from the Aperol and lemon juice and simply masks the Nonino.

It's five o'clock somewhere. Cheers!
You're not helping.

Woof!

You know, I liked that song when it came out, it was catchy.

Now I hate it. Know why? I can't listen to The Clash's Straight To Hell without hearing her voice in it.

You, hating something?! Color me ten shades of utterly-unsurprised.

FATA! Another thing to add to the list!

Mick!

Was so fun chatting with you. :)
Seriously the highlight of my day! Yes, it's only 1:40 pm, but I've no doubt that chatting with you will beat the rest of the days goings-ons.

Yeah, you heard that right folks, I got to talk with girlsmiley. Commence jealously now.

:D

You stinker.
*sniffs* Nope, I'm clean. I showered this morning and everything. Even used one of those after-shower bath oils, so I'm all slicked up and smooth to boot.

(I'm not pointing fingers, but incognito posted right above you...)

<stands up from crowd>

“I'm Pavlov's Dog”

(responds well to naked tits)

Woof!

It's not me. I showered, plus I'm upwind.

Makers mark is my favorite! Even did the distillery tour(br jealous)

Ever have knob creek? Its a close second for me

Yay! Amaro! I am a convert to the bitter world of digestifs.

I am coming to Texas. You and I are going to get very drunk (Lord knows you have enough alcohol) and I am going to dance in your kitchen.

Cos that's how I roll. :D

Aye, I'm jealous. Haven't done the tour yet, and I'm even an Ambassador! *hangs head in shame*

Have I had Knob Creek?! But of course! Currently in my bar. Another good sipper. Also keep Bulliet around (both bourbon and rye, although the rye is too sweet for my liking). I've run out of Basil Hayden's; one of my friends adores it with a splash of ginger ale. What's your take on Baker's?

Aren't they delightful? I keep a cabinet of digestifs, but the Nonino has been co-opted for Paper Planes. Just the prettiest drink color ever. Like a Texas sunset in the hill country.

What are you doing still awake woman?!

And hell yeah! You come this way, and we'll do it up right.

Haven't seen bakers in my area and we just recently started getting bullett. I'm gonna get a bottle when I finish off the knob creek. I've got a bottle of makers white from the distillery. Can only buy it there. Its pretty much moonshine, but cut to 90 proof.

I'm more of an irish fan. Love me some red brest 12 year. Jameson and bushmills 10 year are pretty good too

go back to sleep after chatting with Mischka.

I'm all hyped-up. I needed to have a cup of Earl Grey. :D

Hell yeah we'll do it right.

Oh, that'd be fun to taste. I've gotten the 46, but again, it's too sweet for me. The vanilla notes are too much for me. I like my bourbons to put hair on my chest.

I seem to have more Scotch than Irish at the moment: Macallen 15, Glenlivet 12, Lonach 36.

But this summer I've been concentrating on rums. My annual charity cocktail party next month is focusing on rum-based cocktails, so I've had to experiment with recipes, naturally.

Its kind of a buttery popcorn taste. Sweet but burns. I got to dip my bottle. Pretty sure I paid extrafor that but it was neat.

I'm not a big rum drinker but I do like the kraken. Never liked the captain too much.

My liquor cabnet I think has some flavored vodkas, pucker, evan williams, knob creek, makers white, bushmills 10 year, and glenlivet 12. Or is it glenfittich? Always forget. I've got a bottle of vodka shaped like a over under shotgun. No idea where I'm gonna put it

You have officially stolen my heart. Makers Mark yummy. I actually know the guy who created it. I have been on the tour with him and done private tastings with him. The thing is I tasted Makers Mark and wanted to meet him. He was so very open to sharing what he had done
