I'm depressed. I've been having many of the sure signs of getting older. The aches and pains. A few too many pounds. My one redeeming virtue has always been my eyesight. It's always been perfect. I was told many times in my life that my eyesight was better than 20/20.

In the last several months I had noticed that it was slipping a little but didn't pay much attention. I knew I was pushing 40 and it had to start slipping at some point. Over the last 2 months it has gotten progressively worse so I broke down and got an eye exam........

BI FOCALS!!!!

Arrrggghhhhh. I've gone from perfect vision to bi focals in less than a years time!

I have no virtues of youth left. I'm going to have to start embracing the wisdom of experience now

It's a great hill. Find a nice long patch of grass on the downward slope, flop down on your ass, and feel the breeze while you enjoy the long slide down. Walking up was hard. I'd hate to have to do that again.

Hey getting older is cool - ish!!

I dunno what it's about. I can vouch for the fact that the eyes can change pretty quickly though. Mine went from perfect to needing bi focals in about 7 months.

It was the bi focals part of it that did me in. I would have been okay with a regular pair of glasses. Hell no, can't have that. Gotta start with bi focals.

then my near vision went Awol too, I cant stand bi/varifocals and resort to whipping my gogs on and off repeatedly.

Yeh soft! Not the bifocals though they are glasses (gogs) at first I could get away with lenses until I needed to do close up work so I would take them out when I got home but thats no good now!

I still wear lenses occasionally but spend half the day trying to remove the non-existant glasses!
