Friends, I'd like to share my wonderful news with you all.

This morning at 5.20am, my grand daughter was born.

She is the daughter of my son Chris and his wife Samantha.

This beautiful little bundle is well, and is her mum. Dad's feet haven't hit the ground yet.

I'd love to tell you her name, but Chris and Sam are still to decide. The wanted to see her first.

I can tell you that she weighed 8lb 10oz and has fair hair.

Daniel thinks it's great.. he now has a younger cousin to boss around...

What is a Little Girl?

Little girls are the nicest things that happen to people. They are born with a little bit of angel shine about them and though it wears thin sometimes, there is always enough left to lasso your heart.

A little girl can be sweeter, and badder, oftener than anyone else in the world. A girl is innocence playing in the mud, beauty standing on its head, and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot.

Girls are available in five colors -- black, white, red, yellow or brown...yet Mother Nature always manages to select your favorite color when you place your order.

God borrows from many creatures to make a little girl. He uses a song of a bird, the stubbornness of a mule, the slyness of a fox, the softness of a kitten and, to top it all off, He adds the mysterious mind of a woman.

A little girl likes new shoes, party dresses, small animals, dolls, make-believe, dancing lessons, ice cream and tea parties. She is loudest when you are thinking, the prettiest when she provokes you, the quietest when you want to show her off and the most flirtatious when she absolutely must not get the best of you again.

Who else can cause you more grief, joy, irritation, satisfaction, embarrassment and genuine delight than this combination of Eve, Salome and Florence Nightingale?

Just when your patience is ready to crack, when your dreams tumble down and the whole world is a mess she can make you a Queen when she climbs on your knee and whispers, "I love you best of all."

congrats,LB!!!:rose:

Thanks hon... I'm thrilled to bits about it.

Unfortunately I won't see her until January, as they live in Guernsey... but I can't wait. :D

I had to go dig this up to share with you on such a special day:

Grandparents bestow upon their grandchildren the strength and wisdom that time and experience have given them.

Grandchildren bless their grandparents with a youthful vitality and innocence that help them stay young at heart forever.

Together they create a chain of love linking the past with the future. The chain may lengthen, but it will never part.....

Thanks so much everyone. You are all such good people.

Sortacurious, thank you for finding that verse... it's lovely isn't it.. and very true too.

I've just spoken to my daughter in law, and she and my son have named their baby.

She is to be Imogene Chloe. A beautiful name for a beautiful little girl.

I'll post my congrats here as well LB.

Hugs to you and all the best of everything for a long and happy life to Imogene Chloe and the rest of her family.:rose:

CONGRATULATIONS once again,my dear friend, the sexiest grandmother I know. She is sooooo lucky to be related to you.

that's tooo sweet!

Happy Felicitations on this Most Joyous of Events

(and such a lucky baby to have such a smashing gran!)

Gothedistance, psyche, Oman and someplace... thank you so much for your lovely words.

It certainly is a special day.

I've always felt that if your children are able to go into the world, set up their own homes, and be able to give their love freely, then you've made a positive contribution to this world and to this society.

And I think that both Daniel and Imogene are living proof of who and what I am.

They are my grandchildren.. and I love them both dearly.

Thanks Freya and Jenny.

Just as I'm blessed to have to beautiful children, and two beautiful grandchildren, I'm also blessed to have so many wonderful friends.

Thank you both so much.

LB....many congratulations love. I found out that I was a Grandad too..albeit he is 3 in October. I lost contact with my daughter, and thanks to the internet, I managed to trace her. She told me that she is now married and I have a grandson, called Thomas (a popular name in Germany...my daughter is German). I feel your joy lass....and again, congratulations :)
I hope the visit to Guernsey goes well for you..and I am envious..I have no idea when I can get to see my grandchild, but I am planning on it :)

Hi Ukin.. it's wonderful being a grandparent, isn't it. But hard when we can't be with our grandchild.

At least I know when I'll see Imogene. I feel for you my friend.

I'm not the one doing the traveling though. Imogene is bringing her Mum and Dad out here. They'll have Christmas in Queensland with Samantha's parents, and then come over here to Perth in the new year.

I can't wait to cuddle her.

:)

Blue Dolphin, thank you so much sweetheart. It's a big day, full of love and joy.

Chris has just emailed me some pics of Imogene. I can see so much of Samantha in her, although she has Christophers fair hair.
