For some reason, my alarm didn't go off. I woke up too late to go to the gym. Now I have to go after work, which I dislike doing. I like going in the morning when it's empty. I don't have to wait to use equipment or machines, and there are less people checking each other out.

Bleah.

I go to a hospital gym, regardless of the time it always has quite a few people in it.

I am more geared to go in the early morning, otherwise I get much too busy.

Exactly........

I did the same thing tonight. The idea to keep in your mind is that lifting and going to the gym is for life. Give yourself a break because your body needed the sleep, and mentally you wouldn't do well in the gym. Gear up for the next workout, and you'll be fired up and ready. I forgive myself if I'm too tired for the next workout, and my next one is outstanding with greater gains too. We tend to time ourselves like we're at work, rush and hustle, but we're dealing with a living organism, us! Break from the rush, listen and talk to your body, coax it when needed, but rest it too, if it needs it. You'll do fine, make great gains, and in the end be a better person for it. (I've been doing this for a long time)

Foxy- I don't want to skip the gym because today is my upper body workout. It's also 20 degrees outside with winds 15-20 mph- no walknig for me, and I don't thin kmy gym has a pool.

SIN- ideally, I'd love a morning sex workout, but I need a steady sexual partner for that.

capricious_chic, that's how I feel. I like going in the morning- it gets me awake and ready for the rest of my day.

Lost Cause- you're probably right- my body did need the rest. However, I've been on such a roll that I don't want to fuck up now. I'll go after work. Things should be fine, especially since I got such a good night's sleep.

I admire your dedication, lilminx. You've been really committed.

I used to go at lunch, I'd arranged to get two hours off so I could walk to the Y, do my thing, shower and walk back. But as I got busier, there were more and more days that "something came up" which prevented from going. So I changed my hours back to regular, and now go to the Y right after work. And it's so crowded. Also, I don't like having to eat so late, by the time I get home and cook something. Maybe I have to give the early-morning thing a shot. It would require a major readjustment in my body clock, though.

And btw, good morning. :)

Good morning, hon.

Early morning workouts are awesome. Yes, it's a bitch to drag my ass out of bed so early, but once I'm up, it's great. The gym is empty, I don't have to wait for equipment, I get my workout out of the way, and it keeps me pretty much on track for eating ok for the day.

This is the first day since I've started my program that I've failed to get up and go to the gym before work.

I woke up really late, too.

I think a chest av might help your mood, tho ;)
