Damned bureaucracy. I finish my bachelors, start my masters, and what happens? I get tossed out of my room. Some reward.

When did pieces of paper become more important than actual facts, circumstances and people? Was it round about the time round pieces of metal stopped being more important than people?

Damn that sucks big time, I'm so sorry babe, I hope something works out for you :rose:

I add my hopes to Abs -I'll keep you in my prayers -hope you can find somewhere quickly! If not, I have a couch here you could sleep on *grins*

Sorry Summer. *HUGS*

Been there myself.

Use your anger to light a fire under them. Bureaucracies act quickly to real emotions. If only to make them go away.

I love the tactical advice, Rob.

My sympathy, Summer.

I don't even know what to say. As you said, some reward. Makes you wonder if it's really worth it to try hard. Some have 4 kids before they're 25, get on welfare, have everyone else pay for them, and they get a new car. I see it all the time. It's hard to be legit and make it sometimes.

If you've come this far, you'll make it. Just blieve. You have my sympathies, happy thoughts, and prayers. :rose:

I'll keep that in mind when I come visit England! LOL - should be a conference there soon.

Mhm. Spend 4 years there, pay your bills regularly, don't damage the dorm (and pay damages every month anyway) and in the end they toss you out and threaten you with a fine if you don't comply - like yer a criminen or summat. And on top of that, I have to pay a sanction of some 100 euros because I didn't move out on time ... although the decision only reached me on the 15th. Surprise surprise, I should have been moved out on the 15th. Very likely.

Of course the friendly clerk explained to me that the school ministry usually does that. That I have the option of going to court, but that she wouldn't advise it - it'd take three years and I'd have even more expenses.

Thus the state turns - one arm of the law using the inefficiency of the other to punish the little man.

The best thing you can do is get your degree, become rich, and then show them all! Oh, if life were only that simple. I do hope the best for you. Rely heavliy on friends and family. That's why we have them.

Yeah - opportunities like this are great for telling friends from "friends". Too bad that has to happen as well.

Oh well, when I become dictator of this godforsook lump there are gonna be changes! And not the rosy kind either! *grumble*

But my mood is getting better at least.

I need a bunk mate as well. I would propose a unionship, but I think we're on wrong sides of the ponds for that. *sigh*

Guess so. But then - I've had enough bunks as well. In the dorm you never know what kind of nut you'll find. I've had them all. From the guy who played basketball in the room and studied maths in his boxers to the guy who slept 16 hours a day and the guy who loved parading in front of me and my gf in his boxers [hmm... lots of guys parading in boxers] to the guy who'd have sex with HIS gf every night goddamn the roomie to the guy who was cool and no problem ... the whole damn hog.

I'd be the DDR freak guy. I play non-stop. Loud music, but I can always use headphones. And I sleep naked. I would probably parade around in my boxers with a roommate though.

So, how was the hog for a roommate?

Well - I sleep naked as well. That's no problem. It's just annoying to find a guy sweating over his math in his boxers ... or a guy parading for 2 hours in front of your gf in her boxers.

My music, however, is much more restrained. Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin and shite.

The hog? Oh no - just meant I'd seen the whole hog of roommates! *grin* Tho' there was this guy who'd eat a pizza before he got up the stairs to the room.

I'm sorry, that was my poor attempt at humor. I agree that some things just should not be done either naked, or near naked. Cooking naked, not good. Dancing naked, not good, at least not if it's a man. I'm sorry, but seeing a guy's cock just kinda flap back and forth while he dances is NOT attractive.

However, a naked woman has more leeway. Again, when breasts start flopping around, generally not good.

I think it just comes down to basic common sense of what's appropriate in a given situation.

Good luck finding a place. It sounds like those bogus fines are really going to hurt you though. When things come at you that you don't expect, and don't have the money for, that's stress that is so hard to take in stride. Don't feel like your world is colapsing though. Your routine may be disrupted, but that's all. It'll fall back into place soon enough.

Yeah - it'll be fine. Thank the family!

If I didn't have them for support ... oh boy, that'd be a diff' story.

I hear ya. In Feb. I'm in the same boat. Gonna have to leave the place I'm at because rent's too much. Moving back in with dear old mother. Ugh. Not looking forward to it, but I have to. I'd leave now, but I'm locked in a lease. At least I get a few more months of freedom. I'm getting great support now too. I'm getting help with the rent until the lease is up. That's saving my rear end for sure.

Not hard to see where the mafia comes from - it's common sense if you don't have a social net!

Summer, it was nice chatting with you this morning. I have to take off now. I hope everything works out. I'll check back in when times allows and see how things are going. Again, good luck. :)

Although it is a bit late, I would suggest a possible course of action. The school/government has enormous power. You have little/no power. However, the newspaper(s) in the area in which you live has, in some cases, even more power than the government. I would go and talk to the school and tell them you need help and not a 100 Euro fine. If you do not get help from the school, you will go and talk to the newspaper(s) and see if you can get help there. Schools do not like the kind of negative publicity that putting someone on the street can generate.

Best wishes and good luck!
