First, let us do a little bit of foreshadowing, shall we?
We'll start with Amicus's beliefs, which are spoken for quite accurately by this article:

Social Security is Immoral
By Alex Epstein (Providence Journal, January 20, 2005; Detroit Free Press, February 6, 2005; Colorado Springs Gazette, March 27, 2005; Philadelphia Inquirer, March 28, 2005; USA Today Magazine, May 1, 2005; Louisville Courier-Journal, May 7, 2005)

In his State of the Union Address, President Bush said that many options were "on the table" to deal with Social Security's problems, and that he "will listen to anyone who has a good idea to offer." But there is one idea he will not listen to: the idea that Social Security should be phased out and ended altogether. Why? Because like his Democrat critics, he believes that whatever Social Security’s financial problems, the program is "a great moral success."

But is it?

Social Security is commonly portrayed as benefiting most, if not all, Americans by providing them "risk-free" financial security in old age.

This is a fraud.

Under Social Security, lower- and middle-class individuals are forced to pay a significant portion of their gross income--approximately 12%--for the alleged purpose of securing their retirement. That money is not saved or invested, but transferred directly to the program's current beneficiaries--with the "promise" that when current taxpayers get old, the income of future taxpayers will be transferred to them. Since this scheme creates no wealth, any benefits one person receives in excess of his payments necessarily come at the expense of others.

And now I make Amicunt's head explode.

Critics of Social Security and Medicare frequently invoke the words and ideals of author and philosopher Ayn Rand, one of the fiercest critics of federal insurance programs. But a little-known fact is that Ayn Rand herself collected Social Security. She may also have received Medicare benefits.

An interview recently surfaced that was conducted in 1998 by the Ayn Rand Institute with a social worker who says she helped Rand and her husband, Frank O’Connor, sign up for Social Security and Medicare in 1974.

Federal records obtained through a Freedom of Information act request confirm the Social Security benefits. A similar FOI request was unable to either prove or disprove the Medicare claim.

Between December 1974 and her death in March 1982, Rand collected a total of $11,002 in monthly Social Security payments. O’Connor received $2,943 between December 1974 and his death in November 1979.

Cue Amicunt's absolute fearful silence.

Feel free to remind Amitwat of this every time he shows up, ever.

You people can thank Daddy Jacquelope. Or not. The truth shall not be silenced! :D

Dear Reader

FICA and Medicare are taxes all wage earners pay. Social Security and Medicare are welfare for a scant few with brief employment histories, and a gold mine for thieving politicians. Over the years politicians stole 2.5 Trillion Dollars from the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds.

Two and 1/2 Trillion Dollars is enough money to pay full benefits to 100 Million Americans for 2 years if the money earned no interest. But Americans pay 12% of their incomes to Social Security and a separate tax for Medicare; so the 2 1/2 Trillion oughta be in the bank earning about 100 Billion a year in interest. It doesnt. Its gone bye bye, and IOUs from Congress remain.

But now Congress plans to repudiate the IOUs and ration both Social Security and Medicare. The plan is bipartisan, and the intent is to create a trickle-down medical care system for all Americans with elites getting gourmet care and working stiffs getting shit, or killed with kindness.

Here's why that does not pass mustard LT.

When Rand, Hayak and Mises published their books, the Left and the followers (economically) of the Socialists of the Chair did everything they could to destroy them and prevent the sales of their works (as they now band together to prove "Atlas Shrugged" is probably the worst film ever made, including "Birth of a Nation."), in short, they, the collective, committed a theft against individuals, much as they did to Roark in "The Fountainhead."

By stealing from Ayn, they did what collectivists love to do, force her to depend upon the largess of the state, so you see, to most of us, she was just getting back that which she might have otherwise earned if the Left actually believed in Liberty and Freedom of Speech instead of destroying that which they simply do not agree with so they do not have to "discuss" it and take the chance of losing "the debate."

Once again, on the head exploding thing, epic fail.

And we scream like alleycats
Tearing down what we attack
To prove that we are one

Oh please! that is such a rubbish defense!

and isn't anyone going to point out to le jerk that this thread was done at least a month ago?

VETTEMAN

We oughta hang a few but wont. I used to think we're too docile and timid to do it but anymore I think most Americans are in awe and esteem the DC ganstas.

Maybe to you. You're stronger on the side of the State Services than that of Individual Liberty.

LT thinks the world revolves around him.

no, it's a rubbish defense. It's like me saying "no one's buying my jewellery because people on lit say mean things about me".

you really credit the mythical left-wing of the USA with far more power than it has. If the left wing in the USA really were that powerful, you would have caught up with the rest of the developed world and have universal health care.
