Anyone got any tips on picking one out....ever had one?
No you can't take turns shoving it up your ass!!!

Im getting a kitty!

hehehe.....finally someone as excited as me over getting a new pet. Pick a hamster that is cuddly in the store or itll be boring at home. And get a female. I had a male hamster once and he got testicular cancer. They got as big as his head and he was sick for 3 days then poof he died. It was so sad. Ive had a few hamsters. And pick a really long haired fluffy one cause they look cute and funny lol.

Enjoy!

**Cringes in fear**

Hamster....did u say a hamster??? I had 3 of those lil buggers. They loved to chew through the lil plastic covers on the cages(the ones where u can add all that tubing for them to run through) and escape. One night hubby and I awoke to somethin furry crawlin up his leg in the bed....fuzzy lil bastard attacked us...clawed my shoulder and back all to pieces and bit the livin' hell outta hubby. When they escape from their cages, they are NOT easy to catch. All I can say is, be VERY VERY careful when you handle them.

kitties are nice....^^.
but I really want a fuzz ball ....heheheh....

when you go get one just watch them pick out the one you like my advise is also pick up some medicine for wet tail, it is for them the last hamster got it and died a few days lter. Not sure what all it means but it happens when they get stressed out and it does something inside them and they slowly die i was said but if you get the medicine you just stick it in its water bottle one to 2 times it does not hurt them to have it. and try not to hold the hampster to much in the first week

Hamsters can be evil. I had a Hamster when I was in high school named Olga, she was actually my sister's hamster. She figured out haw to open the hatch on the habitrail and scurry down the hall to my room and steal underwear out of my laundry and scurry back up to her habitrail and use them as bedding. She used to bite too.

When I moved out I got guinea pigs. They're bigger, cuddly and loving and "eep" when they're happy or want food. I still have them, thay make great company and you can teach them to "sing" with the aid of a plactic bag.

Guinea pigs are easy to take care of, and really don't make efforts to escape their rooms, and they coo when you pet them. I love my pigs!

no no no!!! NO PIGS!!! I just can't stand their shreaking and squealing...>.<;

My first pet that was truly mine and not the family's was a long-haired gray hamster named Sammy. As far as pets go, he was okay. He really enjoyed nest building, so we always kept him well-stocked in wood shavings. He didn't like poop in his cage, so he would do this weird thing where he would fling it out with his teeth through the metal bars. He could fling that stuff three feet!

After he died, I got a rat. I know most people hate rats with a passion that is really amazing...but they make much better pets. They are affectionate, intelligent, and have personality in a way that hamsters do not. They can be trusted to run around your body and your furniture without pooping as well. And they are fuzzy!

Can't Help Ya, They Hate Me.

Every Hamster I Have Ever Owned Was Named Lily, And Each And Every One Bit Me And Ran Down The Furnace Grate To It's Rodent Doom.
