I've been here on and off for over a year and not once have I received a thing from other people here, nor do I know them beyond what I gather from what they post. Of course I don't go looking for friends but maybe if you do you will have some luck.

You can post alot, if you do it reasonable and not get on people's nerves...likes others.

Just jump in on a thread, get to know the people here that way, hell I broke 1000 post my first month at Lit and alot of them were stupid little nonsense posts that irritated alot of people, but I managed to make friends anyways. You need to get a feel of the people around here, know what most can tolerate and what others can't, not everyone likes everyone but we tolerate each other pretty good. If you don't come off as a rude asshole/bitch then you are doing pretty good...there are even some people who start out that way and end up with friend's here.

Don't rush it, just try to slide in on something once in awhile then people will get to know you just like you'll be getting to know them. Don't make assumptions either, find out for yourself how someone is....

Sometimes it goes pretty fast other times it doesn't, but you'll eventually get to know people here.

:)

As in the offline world, friendship requires an investment.

For many, their interaction is not limited to GB. Yes, there are email exchanges, but there is also AIM, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, telephone calls, and in some case honest to goodness face to face meetings.

A lot of people open up here, and a lot of bonds are formed just from offering support.

Its my policy.. to do anything for a friend. It makes me feel good to help my friends.

I've turned off all communication devices six months ago and really, it's a lot more enjoyable..

It avoids those funky stalkers altogether...heh.

You don't really need private things said to you in emails and pms to feel you have made connections here..just keep posting interesting things and people will naturally gravitate toward you.

Then watch..those pms will come rolling in from people you know and care about.

Nah, people here are more interested in the notion of you not having any on, it piques their imaginations.

I'm sorry for the threadjacking..and the mention of undergarments.

We should know better!

Getting attention is one of those arts that isn't always easy to master. Hell, I don't have a clue what I'm doing. *Chuckles.* What I'm finding is that your PMing people FIRST can help. But maybe that's just how it works for me.

Seriously, I PMed someone last night and they claimed to be shocked and went on about how -they- were newbies. Good heavens. I'm still trying to find my dick so I can try this "mastarbashun" thing out.

Having an AV can get you a LOT of attention from people you don't talk to - which can be a good or a bad thing. Take RubyFruit. I bet that woman gets about 9 billion PMs. And you KNOW the only ones she cares about come from -ME-. Right? Right!!?!

Other than that, just be. I know I can't always post thought-provoking goodness, nor can I always post carefree idiocy. Okay, I can always post the idiocy. But still. Just post how you want to and let everything else fall in place - kind of like life, in general.

But Dhal, don't you think adding lingerie will add to the mystique and attract some attention?

Personally?
I'm a word girl.
Pussy is easy…I mean half the population has one.

To quote Jim Morrison:
"I'd rather be a word man. Better than a bird man."

Though he seemed to have no problem getting laid..heh.

But yeah..it does in this culture, Lukky...you're right.

I'm not sure how immediately you're wanting to become everyone's nearest and dearest, but I remember a lot of concerned posters in your threads from yesterday...about your boyfriend.

That was you, wasn't it?

Heh. But seriously, these things take time.

Never put on underwear to come here!

Actually I think we do like to imagine other posters half naked and hot.
