Just a quick question for everyone. I know there are a few people that have there IM addresses posted. Do you all have a problem receiving random IM's from others at Lit? Do you like getting random IM's and meeting new people?

Receiving random pms from unknown people is exactly the reason why I keep my sn private. On another site I had mine listed and received ims from people who I never would have talked to in a million years. Took my info off quick *winks*

My advice? Keep it private if you don't like random ims. I give my sn out to those who I like and know after many pm exchanges

I don't mind getting random IM's from people here--I like getting to know people. Problem is either they don't say anything conducive to starting conversations, which would hint at their curiosity about me, or they merely send friend invitations saying "Hi. I'm from Lit" as if that actually means something.

Ideally, the person who's gone to the trouble of IM'ing me has scoured all the boards for my glamorous, inciteful posts, read them with glee, and, as a result, inevitably found himself compelled to search me out in order that we may engage in days-long, sensual, mind-alteringly brilliant, grammatically impeccable conversation.

Ah well.
