I'm boycotting Mexican restaurants

I have a couple favorite local Mexican restaurants. If time and cost weren't factors, I'd visit at least one of them daily.

Better eat there now cause once Trumps wins, he will pack all of the Mexicans onto buses and send them back over the border.

If you're comfy in Oakland, El Taco Zamorano has awesome food.

Oakland is my favorite part of the bay

I've seen their truck out at treasure island and my buddy said they are a damn good bite also...I'll have to check them out next trip down there.

Oakland, the birthplace of Rocky Road Ice Cream!

Dems have already demographically eliminated whites for all intents and purposes, if Trump gets rid of Mexicans, that makes more elbow room for the Asians and Middle Easterners. They will be the surprise winners in this.

I'm not in any of those places. Runny, flavorless refried beans with watery nacho sauce, not saffron rice and and (2) burritos devide of texture or flavor under too much lettuce, flavorless guac and a blop of sour cream.

At least it's quick.

Where's Rick Bayless when you need some grub?

That's what passed for Mexican food in the 1970s. Almost any decent-sized city will have better options these days, thanks to actual Mexicans who know what the hell they're doing. This is even leaving aside food trucks.

They looked Mexican to me- dark hair, 5 feet tall and round. I could have been in Walmart by the looks of the client base...

I'd make my own enchiladas but it takes all damn day.

Went to a great sit down Mexican place tonight. It was not Tex-Mex food. You had 6 choices on the menu. Most dishes consisted of pork, chicken or lamb. No slop. Real spices.

We have a takeaway Fish and Chip shop that also serves Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Kebab and Pizza.

Not surprisingly, whatever you order is crap.

About ten miles away there is a restaurant with a massive sign painted on the outside wall. They serve "Canadian Pizza". Apparently it is popular even though the staff are Turkish. Why "Canadian"? No one knows. The sign has been there longer than the owners.

But, in my brother's village, and in a remote part of North Wales, there are Chinese-owned Fish and Chip shops. Both are so well considered that people drive past many other Fish and Chip places to visit the Chinese ones.

One of our local Indian takeaways has won National awards for the excellence of their food. They had to. About a decade ago they were closed down by the local Council for appalling food hygiene, with rotting food in a large heap outside the back door and a severe mouse infestation. They rebuilt the kitchens so the customers could see the food being prepared; changed all the staff; paid for a good Indian chef; and displayed photos of their dishes which were accurate, not Photoshopped.

Now they are popular and profitable - and award-winning year on year.

But they don't serve the food Indians eat. They serve, and win awards, for the Indian food that British people eat. We do have another restaurant that serves East Indian food, and that is genuine. Most of their customers ARE Indian.

We know which outlets are good, but they aren't necessarily the cheapest.
