You know it's not even the kids that are making me feel the way I do.. It's odd.. hard to explain. I guess I am just bored with the "get up, take care of mom, get Kimber off to school, take care of mom, clean house, take care of mom, get online, take care of mom, cook dinner, take care of mom, do dishes, take care of mom, get online, take care of mom, and then go to bed rountine" on a daily basis. I want something else. But i'm stuck for a few more years.

It is the rut in life that kills many of us. It is like being stuck on a circular train track, with the same stops and views day in and day out. You just want to run the train of the tracks and find out what is on the otherside of that hill or at another stop. Even family and friends sometimes compound the problem, and we all should rush out and do something so far out of character that no one can believe it. Try not to go on a murdering rampage but, just go and do something you would normally not do, as the dutifull housewife and mother. And most of all enjoy yourself, it is your life, they are only along for the ride, and may get off at any station.

I'm bored too, same routine each and every day. Being a good mum, wife, friend, lover, daughter in law. I am not whinging I am expressing understanding for an extremely nice person.
I love my life, my kids, my husband and who I am. But every now and then one can get 'cabin fever'.
List of chores for today
Mow lawn
Do at least four loads of washing
Take mum in law shopping (she is elderly so I park as close as I can, get a trolley for her, help her into the store etc etc etc)
Weed garden
Bake cup cakes for 8 year old who is home from school sick
Vacuum
Fold up dry washing
Ironing
Prepare tea
pick up other kids for school
take 18 yr old to hairdresser and onto jobinterview
open bank account for 12 stepson
take hubby lunch
pick up 1 yr old grandaughter
finish emailing a few freinds
maybe write for half hour
take cat to vet
and the list goes on and on and on ... getting montonous is it?

Some people don't have the choice to get out and do things- have you ever thought about that? Freakygurl said about 10 times in her daily routine that she has to take care of her mother- I don't think that gives her much freedom to "go out" and do much else.

2. Get to know someone BEFORE making assumptions.

I am a 33 year old married female who is taking care of her sick and disabled mother. I can't just get up and change my life. You see HER life depends on ME. So unless she either moves to a "home" or dies, I'm "stuck" doing what I'm doing. I will never put her in a nursing home. I've worked in the ones here near our home, and they aren't worth shit. The prisoners at the local prison are treated better than the old people in those homes.

Honey, try thinking of it this way. Not all of us have any options. I'm in the same rut as freakygurl. I'm a stay at home mom of 2, and tho I would love to be able to go off into the job world, the lack of transportation and inability to drive keeps me at home. Ya never know. There's always more to the story than first appears.

And I highly doubt she's whining. More like venting her need for a change. Big difference. She's not throwning a tantrum and demanding selfish things. She just was expressing a desire for a bit of variety. Those of us who elect to stay home to care for someone else, be it chilldren, an elderly parent or both have a lot of responsibility. I applaud her for her loving care.

I could yes, but mom wouldn't allow it. Mom is a very difficult person. I have one brother who is a thief and drug addict. So he is not an option.

I can leave mom for short periods, but she isn't thrilled with it. She acts like its all fine and dandy when i leave. If I come back later than she thinks I should, she turns into a bitch.
