"The middle of fucking nowhere. I'm going to die in the middle of nowhere. I'll be known as the woman who died in the middle of nowhere because I couldn't afford to fill the tank with gas!"

The evening was humid, the sun was beginning to set, and the woman in question sunk down beside her car and drew her knees to her nicely-shaped chest. She leaned her chin on the tops of her knees and cussed her bad luck. First she'd been evicted from her apartment for unpaid rent, then her credit card had been chewed by an ATM because the bank had cut her credit, and after being fired from her low paid job, she was now stuck on a deserted highway in the loneliest part of the State.

She was young, slim, long-legged, and her eyes were the lightest shade of green. Her bleached blonde hair was scrubbed back and tied tightly in a bun because of the heat, and her light blue summer dress was starting to cling to her lightly tanned skin. She pulled her sandals from her feet after a while because even they felt like they were merging and melting into her.

"This trip was a joke," she muttered to herself, wondering what the hell she'd been thinking. There were no funds to pay for any of this, but she had just wanted to run. Now, she was looking at a long wait as she hoped somebody would come along and save her stupid ass from dying of thirst. "I even forgot to pack water. Who forgets to pack water on the hottest day of the year?" She looked around, shaking her head. "Stop talking to yourself, you're mad already, but you don't want to be crazy, too."

Ryan Morris was a self-made millionaire. Due to some great investments, he was able to make a lot of money and retire early. He build a cabin in the woods with all the amenities, full electricity, Satellite TV and Internet. He also raised chickens and planted a garden for food. He only went to town once a week to get other food. He enjoyed his life but he missed having female companionship. So, he decided that since he would never find a woman who was willing to give up her life to become his wife, he would kidnap a woman and make her his mate.

He put together the stuff he would need to kidnap a woman and headed to a city, a good distance from his cabin. He drove for awhile when he saw a woman sitting by a car on the side of the road. He pulled off the road and walked up to her car. "Hey there... need some help?"

Help was the only thing in the world she needed right now. Help and water. Okay, so help, water and food was everything she craved at the moment. No wait, it was help, water, food and air-conditioning. His voice broke through her sullen thoughts and she quickly pushed herself onto her bare feet, nodding as enthusiastically as her muddled brain and exhausted body would allow her.

"Water?" she whispered to him, an absolute pitiful look in her eyes. The sun had truly gone to her head and she was struggling to stand straight without wanting to topple over again.

Ryan smiled, "You got it..." he went to his van and got a bottle of water. He opened it and slipped a drug inside. It would knock her out for a little while. Just long enough to get her in the van, take her things out of the car and get her back to his place. "Here you are..." he said as he handed her the bottle.

She never ever even worried about drinking anything he handed to her. All she felt was a rush of gratefulness as she gulped down the contents of the bottle, not even savouring the taste of the ice-cold drink.

Ryan smiled as she drank down the water. He couldn't make a move until she passed out, so he just sat down next to her, "My name's Ryan by the way... What's yours and why are you out here all alone?"

She told him her tale of woe, explaining how she'd lost everything from her apartment to her job. "I don't know how it happened," she said, shaking her head as she finished the last drop of water. "It's like, poof! Everything was gone. Then here I am, stuck on the roadside without a dime to my name."

Her hand moved toward his so she could pass him the empty bottle, not wanting to litter. "My name's Easter," she said. "No jokes, I've heard them all."

Ryan took the bottle. "Nice to meet you Easter." He couldn't have planned it any better. From they way it sounded no one was going to miss her. "I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles. But, you know I've got a feeling that your luck is going to turn soon."

"Bad luck follows me around," she complained, rubbing at her eyes a little and smudging her mascara. "You see what the sun does to me? I'm feeling tired, like I've drunk some kind of quick-acting drug or something," she added, smirking alongside her feeble joke.

Ryan laughed a little at her remark. He slipped her sandals back on her feet and walked with her back to his van, "How about you rest in my van for a little bit while I get your things out of your car? You are in no condition to drive right now."

"My car won't work, anyway," Easter muttered, willing to walk wherever he led her. "I couldn't afford the gas." She glanced at him, rubbing at her face again to stop her eyelids from falling closed completely. "I want a bed. A huge comfy bed."

Ryan opened the side door and helped her inside, "Don't worry, my dear... You stick with me and I'll get you a big comfy bed." He buckled her in and when to her car. All he could find for her possessions was a just a purse. He grabbed it and headed back to the van.

It took a couple of hours to get back to his place. Once there he took the still sleeping Easter out of the car and into the cabin. He took her to the master bedroom. It was simply decorated. There was wood paneling on the walls. A couple of wood dressers and nightstands. There were several locked doors and there was also a big bay window, that over looked the forest at the side of the house. There was also a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe in the distance. Ryan then placed her on the four post king sized bed, he took her shoes off and put her hair down.

Once she was all set, he left her there fully clothed, on top of the covers, locked the door behind him and he went into the guest room down the hall. It was late and he was tired. She would still be out until morning. He thought he would give her a chance to accept her new life. Then he took his clothes off and went to sleep.

Easter woke slowly the next morning, feeling like she was under water as she was that groggy. She stirred, rolling onto her side and feeling around her. There wasn't any sign of gravel or mud, and she couldn't feel the heat of sun any more.

Sitting up slowly, she blinked a few times as the room came into focus. "Oh my God," she whispered to herself, crawling off the bed and backing against a wall. She looked around, studying her surroundings and swallowing the lump in her throat.

Yesterday came rushing back to her, and she started to think about the guy she'd met at the roadside. Maybe he was doing her a favour by bringing her somewhere comfortable to sleep?

Ryan got up that morning and tended to the chickens before starting breakfast. He fixed his guest a nice breakfast of pancakes, bacon, fresh fruit, and orange juice. He unlocked the door and walked into the bedroom . Ryan was wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, and boots. He put on his best smile and walked into the room, "Good morning, Easter. I hope you're hungry."

Easter watched his every move, not wanting to jump down his throat or slap him with her sandal, in case this was a huge misunderstanding. Still standing in yesterday's clothes, she gave him a small nod. "Morning," she said, her eyes narrowing. "You must have locked the door by accident, I couldn't get out the room."

"Oh," said Ryan as he set the food on the bed, "Sorry about that... I didn't want you wondering around. You were pretty out of it last night. That heat must have really done a number on you... Any way, I made you some breakfast. Then, I figured I'd drive to to a gas station and get you some gas and then I'll let you on your way.... However... I do have a proposition I'd like to discuss with you."

Easter blinked, thinking he was probably right. The heat had gone to her head and she'd probably had sunstroke. It wouldn't be the first time, and she had been cured by a long sleep that August day last summer.

"Okay," she said slowly, looking at the plate of food. Her stomach grumbled and she realised how hungry she was. "I'll listen if you let me eat while you're talking."

Ryan sat and watched her start to eat, "I've been alone for a long time. I would like you to move in here with me and be my lover and be the mother of my children." This was going to happen one way or another. He hoped that she would be willing to do this, "Don't worry... I would take very good care of you and our future children."

She was partly listening as she ate her breakfast quickly; the first meal she had eaten in over a day and a half. Though, she paused with her knife and fork in her hands when he mention 'children'.

Her eyes darted to his face and she wore a smile, a little embarrassed, because she thought she'd misunderstood. "Can you, you know, repeat that?"

"I would like you to move in here with me and be my lover and be the mother of my children." Ryan repeated with a friendly smile. He hope that she agreed to stay because he really didn't want to have to keep her there against her will.

Easter blinked, slowly putting the tray down on the bed before she had even finished her breakfast. He sounded so kind, so sweet, and so eager, she wondered if he had planned this all along. "Did you always plan to kidnap me?"

Ryan smiled. Easter was such a smart young woman. He couldn't lie to her. "I planned on kidnapping a woman, but then I happen led on you. If you don't want to stay that's fine... I'll just find someone else."

Easter's brow furrowed. "Hey," she said, pointing a finger at him. "Are you saying I'm not good enough to be kidnapped and used by you?"

Ryan smiled at Easter's comment, "No... I think you would be perfect that's why I kidnapped you. That water was drugged. But, I'm not going to make you stay if you don't want to."

"It was drugged? You drugged me?! Oh my God, you actually drugged me!" Easter cried, making a show of telling him how she felt. She was out the door in seconds flat, marching away from him and planning to leave. Though, once she looked around, her feet slowed down. The cabin was beautiful.
