Hi folks,

I know I've been rather quiet for a while, please accept my apologies. I'll be explaining why here directly. I'm not looking for any attention, per se, but I would ask for your good thoughts and prayers for a swift recovery.

On Tuesday, August 22, I was admitted to the hospital after suffering some intense chest pains. I suffered what the doctors described to me as "a mild heart attack". My EKG's looked good (ie, no major arrythmia's or disfunction detected in the electrical signal from the heart), but the enzyme they now check for heart attack was present. A heart specialist checked further, found some indication of blockage in my EKG, and so scheduled me for a catheritization where they would inject dye into the heart, check for a blockage or two, then insert "stents" (essentially small stainless steel spirals that would be expanded in the blocked artery(ies) to open them back up to good blood flow).

Nothing to panic about, so far, but I figured in the hospital for a few days with no internet access was survivable. *grin*

The cath procedure was done as scheduled on Wed, the 23rd, but they found far more extensive problems than one or two blockages that stents would clear up for me. ALL of my coronary arteries had blockages. Not good. They stopped right there, backed up and called for a new strategy for the next stage of treatment.

Yes, fans, they called in a chest cracker and on Thursday they set me up for a quadruple bypass. That was supposed to happen Friday, but I got bumped by the head heart surgeon when they got a patient who was in much worse shape than I was. My surgery got bumped back to Monday, the 28th. I was in the hospital over the weekend of course (Hey, would YOU send $10k a day home for the weekend and risk that insurance cash cow kicking the bucket? I think not! *LOL*). I got a computer for the weekend, though, and hopped on line. But it seems that while the hospital provides wireless internet, they freaking SCREEN FOR ACCEPTABLE CONTENT!

YAAARRRRRR! No porn or adult content allowed in the Cardiac Care Unit! I could check my email accounts, and non-adult Yahoo groups, but anything with sex, BDSM or alt on the page was a no go! Curses! I couldn't get to LIT to tell y'all what was going on! (Made for a boring weekend on the web, I gotta say!)

Anyway, they cracked my chest bright and early Monday morning, the operation went swimmingly well it seems, and I've been on the mend ever since. HOWEVER, comma, it appears that being intubated while conscious triggers my claustrophobia pretty badly. I went three rounds with someone in recovery, and finally my body decided to resort to puking to get them to pull the tube out. I'm sure that was no fun to clean up, and I'll know if I ever have surgery again to telll them to take the damned tube out BEFORE I wake up...

I spent a blurry Monday night and Tuesday morning in the ICU, I remember a few folks stopping in to visit, but have absolutley no clue what we talked about. I just hope that I didn't collar any ICU nurses... *grin*

I was transfered to the regular recovery part of the heart hospital Tuesday afternoon, and got sent home today (Sunday, 09/03/06). So now y'all are all caught up (for the most part) on the "Adventures of Evil_Geoff" for the last couple of weeks.

I'm in good spirits, good health (all things considered), with a very good prognosis. Better this was found and taken care of NOW than left to fester undetected for a time to where I might suffered a fatal heart attack. As I always say: "Getting older beats hell outta the alternative!"

I'm not humble, I would appreciate any and all good thoughts, prayers, well wishes and other expressions of speedy recovery. Those of you going "Damn! They missed!" Please, let me know, so I can put you on my "Persons To Be Watched" list! *lol*

Nice to be back, but don't expect any weighty posts for a while!

Hi folks,

Geoff

My god! What a story.
There is so much I want to say, but it all seems trite in light of your adventure.

I am pleased your made it through and look forward to hearing more about your recovery.

Take care my friend. Shank

As insincere as this may sound, just the other day I was wondering where you had wandered off to...

Thank goodness everything was discovered, and a good team of surgeons were around to fix the broken parts.

Now take care, and rest up! Quadruple bypass surgery isn't a joke young man, and you need to heal properly or you'll not have the energy to spank all the cute nurses!

*wags her finger and looks as stern as possible*

Blessings to you and your loved ones, Geoff. :rose:

Good to see you back

Geoff,

It was not long ago that I was in the hospital with my dad under going a similar thing. I know this had been hard and taken its toll..I am glad you are ok. About a month afterwards, after he had a chance to heal up...he told me how good he felt, better than he had in years. It seems the increase circulation of blood help him alot. I hope that you will continue to heal and get better and that once you do, you too will experience better health over all.

I did miss you, and was talking with a friend just the other day about you. You have my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am glad you are ok.

Wow. Hey, it's a good thing they found what they did, when they did. I have a friend who had a mild heart attack at 42, and to look at him today, 14 years later, you seriously couldn't tell he ever had a scare.

All of this surely means you'll be eating differently, now? I hear finding different ways to eat healthy can be a challenge, at first. But, after a while, you get the hang of it. I hear it's all in the appetite.

But, seriously, I'm glad you are still around. And, I can imagine how you must feel, with this coming on all of the sudden. And if your heart wasn't damaged, that's even better. That means you can get back in the saddle to a full recovery. OK, maybe not tomorrow, but it's something to look forward to. But, you are out of the hospital...that's the first step. And, I bet you have a cool scar, too. Oh, shit...did one of your tats get clobbered?

Now, about those nurses...you know...if you don't remember what you talked about, you might not remember other things, too. You could have been their male bitch and not even know it. And, you thought your operation was being delayed for other reasons.

Oh...thainks for filling me in on the claustrophobia thing with the vent tube. I'm sure I would be the very same way. I have panic attacks triggered from claustrophobia.

Don't you just hate it, when you can't convince someone of something you KNOW is going to happen? Throwing up was a nice touch. LOL.

I missed you and I have noticed every day you weren't here. When I started the thread for smaller social groups here to congregate in as one larger hopefully happy 'family' , after all the ALT woo haaa the Board had been through I wanted to pick a topic that seemed generally popular and often mentioned. Geoff Sir as you are aware your one of many that gets all inspired on the topic ( Pirates ) and when the The Debauched Stalwart Seabound S.S.Slutbucket Yarrrrr Thread was 'launched' you were very much in mind. I know how you enjoyed the picture I have placed above and was keeping a repeat performance of it for your arrival 'onboard'.

So cutting a long story short of every day that thread existed you have been missed.

Edit Love to your Janey as well Geoff Sir.......if experience serves me correctly she has been to Hell and back in more ways than one recently. I apologise I neglected to mention this earlier.End of Edit

Geoff, I'm so glad to hear that all went well and send well wishes your way. My dad had a triple bypass when my oldest was about 5. She's 19 now and he's as hale and hearty as ever. So rest, relax, and follow doctor's orders. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. :rose:

Here's to a speedy recovery Geoff, and to hoping you have some cute little subbie to tend to you during it. :D

I'm so glad you are okay now!

*HUGS*

The same sort of thing happened to a good buddy of mine a few years ago. Honestly, he's never felt or looked better than he does now. Hopefully you'll find yourself in that position.

Now get yourself immersed in some kinky stuff and enjoy!

*smiles*

Fury :rose:

Amazing, I was just talking about you last night.

So glad to hear that you are recovering from all this.
I'm sure it's been pretty stressfull if not downright scary.

Best wishes to you and yours. Get well real soon.
You've been missed.

I, too, hope you recover well. I'm glad they found the problem and could solve it on time before bigger problems arose. Get well soon :rose: :)

Welcome back and here’s to as speedy a recovery as is possible.

It can be amazing to ponder the advances that the medical community has made. Our parents would not have survived what you have gone through.

EG, I am sooooo happy to hear that you are on the mend!!!!

And yes you were missed, but as long as they fixed you up, it was well worth the wait!!!!

is kink good for recovery I wonder?

EB

Hey, Geoff.

My father went through something similar earlier this year. Only a triple bypass, but otherwise, almost exactly the same story (he didn't have to vomit to get the tubes out, though). I'm pretty confident that you will recover, but I'm sending my thoughts along to you anyway.

Have a speedy recovery and glad you caught it early. Good to see you back.

Craziness!

I don't know what to say other than that I was most entertained by your story and I'm so glad it had a happy ending. It's funny that someone can go missing for a bit and you'll never know if they're on a fishing trip or if they're getting their ribs cracked open.

From what it sounds like, you've handled yourself with a lot of dignity.

I did miss you, Geoff, but thought that I might just be missing your presence due to the fact that I'm busier (start of the year and all) and not reading as many threads.

Best wishes for a full recovery!

If you want any weight loss, low fat/low sodium tips, recipes etc...I am at your disposal!

I have been wondering about where you were.

I am glad your ok and hope you will back to full posting and Domly duties soon.

That is quite a ship. I initially thought it might be a bark but upon closer examination I saw that it had 5 masts. What a work of art. They don’t make them like that anymore.

Yes with your background I can understand your appreciation. It is a magnificent ship indeed.

Geoff Sir as I recalled was also passionate about that picture which I had called 'The Dream" hence my choice at this time and I will quote him....

"Gawd.... something about that pic makes me want to bite down on that perky nipple, dragging her forward as I sweep the table clear with me left arm... Releasing my teeth from her nipple just above the table and using my right arm to push her down and hold her in place until my left arm comes up and over and pins her down... Then using my right hand to start spanking and fingering her pert bottom.

*shakes his head back and forth*

Sorry... I think our dreams were mingling.
"

That's the essence to get one fully back on ones feet me thinks......... ;)

I don't know you (yet, anyway) but I certainly wish you well.

Take care of yourself, man.
