Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said there were 899 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Sunday, bringing the total to 11,256. The death toll now stands at 274.

Ezike also noted that about 30 percent of confirmed coronavirus patients in Illinois are African-American, and emphasized the need to fight against disparities in racial outcomes when it comes to the virus.

Looking at the numbers

I am not sure what the ratio of blacks would be in Chicago. But that might be a high percentage. I also wonder what the ratio is for white people being shot to death by white people VS black people shot to death by black people. And what is the race break down on abortions in Chicago?

I think it is clear that these numbers show that black people are victims of white racist.

I am glad that he pointed out the race issue on this one without calling the virus the China Virus. That would make it seem like it was the government in China thinning the herd rather than putting the blame where it belongs, on white people.

So little Racist Shelly, did you even read the article? Judging by your post above, that answer is no.

A minor portion of this article revolves around "equality" ( 3 paragraphs), can you say that word? Do you understand what that word means? You should since you are pushing for "equality of birth". The rest of the article is an outline of what is happening in Chicago, and Illinois.

Let me try and explain the 2 main paragraphs . I'll use small words, no more complicated than a Grade 4 or 5 student would know, sort of like Trump how speaks. I'll do that since there are some "big" words in the paragraphs you may not understand...like "Equality" it means "the same" or equal. ( though given your Racial outlook I really think you have no clue what "equal means")

So in this paragraph in bold below, Dr Ezike is noting that of the total amount of known case's of COVID-19.

So a Racial Disparity is a measurement ( kind of like a graph) that tracks results (outcomes)between people of different races. This is done to see how well one does in comparison to the other.

Outcomes is a fancy word for result. ( see how it could be used above)

Ezike also noted that about 30 percent of confirmed coronavirus patients in Illinois are African-American, and emphasized the need to fight against disparities in racial outcomes when it comes to the virus.

So what the good Doctor is saying above, is the Health Care system needs to ensure ALL patients who have COVID-19 have the same type of access to care. So they all have an equal chance of surviving the COVID-19 virus.

Kind of like how you constantly fight for all fetus's to have the right to be born...and not be aborted...so you SHOULD want to AGREE to the above. Otherwise you ARE racist, and not just stupid. ( I still have a bit of doubt you are just a Racist..I'm only 99.9% sure you are)

A report from WBEZ Chicago Public Radio this weekend indicated that 70 percent of those who have died in Chicago from the coronavirus are African-American. Ezike said the state will have an update on the demographics on Tuesday.

However since 70% of the deaths come from 30% of the case's the Good Doctor feels that something may be wrong, and it should be looked into. Since....

“We have worked to ensure all of our communities can access the health care they need as COVID-19 spreads,” Ezike said.

So now that I have explained the article that you never read, which has nothing to do with Racism, perhaps you would will delete your stupid Racial comments of this being a case of:

I think it is clear that these numbers show that black people are victims of white racist.

I don't know much about America to know how far systemic racism extends to.
I would assume that pre-corona, there WERE indeed unfair disparities in healthcare in low-income neighborhoods, Blacks included.

But this doctor's accusations are far more serious: she basically accuses officials of Apartheid, of prioritising ventilators according to wealth and race.
It might be true or not, I don't live in the US to know, so I'm skipping that part.

What peaked my interest is that it related to something else I was listening to:

This North Shore LIJ Medical Center director (Dr. Mangala Narasimhan) said that what she witnessed in her hospitals she oversees, is something different than elsewhere: lots of deaths + young, relatively healthy people becoming severely ill and needing ventilators. Just like in Italy and Spain.

@4.20: "Is this a new strain that os more virulent with younger people, or is it the popullation that it's hitting...I don't know the answer.:
