In Florida illegals are collecting signatures for a petition to entitle them to the same access and fees and financial aid citizens get for state colleges.

As long as they are learning English let's teach them first what 'illegal' means. An American citizen with a felony can have a hard time getting money for college (unless they get a degree in prison), but someone who isn't supposed to even be here wants free money for college? Fuck that. I say let them apply and use the contact information they provide to throw them in prison for a few years before deporting them.

I thought the whole trick of being an illegal immigrant was to stay under the radar. Wouldn't signing lists and stuff kind of spoil that?

The illegal Mexicans (that also includes some central Americans) are mostly hard working people who don't want to be here. They would rather be back in Mexico. However, they can't earn a living in Mexico, so they come here and live in appaling conditions in order to survive.

Once they're here, some community activist signs them up for a political campaign to justify the political activist's job. Of course, the illegals don't give out real addresses, so they won't get deported. Thus the signatures are worthless from a practical standpoint, with one exception. The political activists are conspiring with people who are here in the US illegally in a plot to entice more illegals into the US. Consipacy is a felony crime. The scumbags need to act.

Here in Hooterville the paper interviews illegal students all the time, and all of them sulk and pout about discrimination in terms of enrollment status, financial aid, and eligibility for scholarships, drivers licenses, employment, etc. ITS JUST NOT FAIR!

This morning's newspaper includes a letter from a high school teacher asking that we all support access to colleges, universities, scholarships and other support programs for the "undocumented" students she is teaching. Seems they are having trouble getting into advanced educational venues.

My first thought was to question whether she was teaching them that being in the U.S. without residence permission is a serious crime. I would guess that fact isn't a part of her curriculum!

Happiness,

Let me pose an analogy.

If you breakin to a bank is the bank obligated to put you on the payroll and invite you to the Christmas Party?

Hispanics voted for Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden over Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin by a margin of more than two-to-one in the 2008 presidential election, 67% versus 31%, according to an analysis by the Pew Hispanic Center of exit polls from Edison Media Research as published by CNN.

It is 'politics as usual', JBJ, but you already know that.

Even though the laws are clear, the waters are also muddy as immigrant labor has been welcomed since the Brazero's were shipped into the Northwest to harvest crops an pick fruit nearly a half century ago.

This began a long time ago with the "Chavez Ravine", incident that I recall only vaguely.

Since Democrats will vote a graveyard, see, 'ACORN', this is right down their alley to register Hispanics as Democrats and force them to join labor unions that have turned the California ag business to automation wherever possible.

Like school teachers and African Americans, they want something from government, from your pocket and mine.

So, what else is new?;)

Amicus...

It may well not be part of her syllabus...

If I was teaching Physics, it wouldn't be part of mine...

I may well be wrong, but the legality of residence seems to me to be secondary to the value of universal education to the limit of what each individual student can learn. Not unimportant, just secondary.

Thank goodness I'm a citizen of the EU, with transnational privileges in this regard. Roll on the World Union.

How about I say, "Fuck Your World Union!"?

And mean it.

Amicus & JBJ, the bikini barista at the expresso stand

is disappointed in your lack of insight into the human condition and empathy into everything else.....she states that you are both welcome to a superior cuppa expresso at her kiosk. (As long as you have $7.50 and a decent tip!!!)
I tried to tell her that there's no hope for a couple of reprobates as yourselves but she proudly points to me as one that she's saved.......Polka-dots forever......
