If Americans really wanted amnesty and cooperation with Libs why didn't they defeat the GOP and send Democrats to Congress? GOP leaders are starting to talk like that's what voters really wanted. It wasn't a call for Democrat change it was a 2nd chance for the GOP to hop aboard the soul train.

Maybe the GOP "heard those of you that chose not to participate in the process."

...and decided to ignore those that did participate.

From a strategic standpoint since Obama is going to do it anyway, I'd be hollerin' loud about how first on the agenda is a fence, pre-paid, no take-backs and immediate amensty for all the illegals that the Democrats cynically lured here.

I would point out that nothing was even proposed when the Dems had the house senate and presidency, and that it took Republicans to get amnesty done. It does seem to take Republicans to make illegals legal, and Dems to through the gate open and shoo them in.

I'll laugh if a generation from now Latinos vote Republican in droves.

You could look at the trends nationally and see that it's actually been about the same for the GOP.

2000: Seems to be between 31 and 39%.

2004: A little better but it seems to be between 40 and 44%.

2008: Back down to 31%.

2012: Mittens got 27%.

2014: It's still too early to tell for sure but most places have it in the mid to high 30s. Let's call it 36%.

So even with Obama punting on immigration (a really foolish move politically as we as morally) it didn't damage the Dems standing among Hispanic voters that much.

Also, in those 14 years of history I just went over the treatment of Hispanics by the GOP has only gotten worse. So the only way those numbers are going to change is if the GOP policies change.

That's because other than the 20,000,000 illegals and their immediate relatives, Hispanics do not favor amnesty.

"path to citizenship" is not "amnesty"

You are such a tiresome little troll, always announcing your victories before a debate has even started then slinking off when your points are refuted.

Good bye. Few people earn iggy as well as you.

Another thread where I owned the fuck out of bitch tits and racists. Let's just close this one down.
