If you're taking Rittenhouse's side now, you probably took Zimmerman's in 2013

"If you're taking Rittenhouse's side now, you probably took Zimmerman's in 2013"

Absolutely. Both legal self defense, and elimination of scum.

It is really scary how much you sound like Reinhard Heydrich here. Yeah sure, shooting an innocent black teenager is "Elimination of Scum."

You are truly disgusting. Go put on your white sheet and stick a burning cross up your ass.

The Zimmerman trial involved two hotheads that got into a fight. One had a gun and one didn't. The guy with the gun can now play victim because the other guy isn't around to say otherwise.

I most certainly did. I even wear my Trayvon Martin memorial hoodie from time to time. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I dunno. Zimmerman sort of followed Martin around until Martin was provoked enough to come after him.

I didn’t see the early interaction that triggered the first guy KR shot. What followed seemed related to that.

You can rationalize any damn thing you want. Fact of the matter is is that if Martin had just gone home there would be no story. But he didn't, he decided to become an aggressor and paid the price for stupid.

At first, I took Martin's side and thought Zimmerman a cold-blooded killer. Than I informed myself of the facts of the encounter and realized I was wrong and believed GZ innocent, which of course he was.

Call me jaded but I've become very suspicious of anything the media has to offer. Or as the old saw goes, "A lie will be halfway around the world before the truth gets its pants on."

Even as we speak here there are media outlets still promulgating the narrative that Rittenhouse went out to purposely hunt those clowns down and kill them in spite to the testimony before the court. This is nothing less than the media playing judge, jury, and executioner in the court of public opinion. And as can be seen here it's working with a segment of the population. And this will lead to nothing more than more violence.

The media knows beyond any shadow of a doubt that, "If it bleeds, it leads." The reality is that it is in THEIR best interests financially to promote conflict and violence. They don't seem to realize that at some point in time they're gong to be caught in the middle of the very conflict and violence they're passively/aggressively promoting. To an extent that is already happening to some reporters, mostly those right leaning. Taken to the extreme that can as easily happen to those on the left. If you go about starting enough fires you're going to get burned.

The kid left his front porch to go to a protest with an assault rifle. That's enough for me to think he needs a prison term.

He's not the only one I'd be investigating and probably prosecuting in that encounter too. And on that basis, I think I'm being objective in ways you never will be.

So, go pound sand.

The funny thing is that in trying to spin a narrative, they only make it harder to get a conviction.

Nah, I don’t think he deserves to be convicted of murder.
Yes, he is dumb and irresponsible. Probably looking for confrontation and trying to be a “hero”. That said, he most likely never planned to actually shoot somebody.
Deserves some prison time, sure. But it’s not murder, just poor judgment.

Your statement only proves that you really don't understand the law.

Yes, he’s clueless about the law. The kid could be guilty of being under age to carry the firearm, but that certainly not something he’ll go to prison for. Is the kid even being charged with that?

He also is clueless about firearms. The AR15 is not an assault rifle. It does not feature select fire like the M4 or M16 used by military and police professionals. It’s a sporting rifle, and happens to be the most popular rifle in America.

It’s clear that some on this thread want to put 2A and self defense on trial, and Rittenhouse is their vessel. That seems to be the prosecution’s strategy as well. It appears the judge is having none of that. He’s sticking to the law. The kid will walk and might even cash in a book deal and some speaking gigs.

And that says nothing good about you.

Really? So you would rather use emotional rhetoric to weigh the issue rather than facts?
Let's look at the Zimmerman/Martin case.
While Zimmerman did follow Trayvon around (which could be harassment) he DID NOT lay a hand on the kid. Trayvon on the other hand jumped Zimmerman and was sitting astride of him beating him with both fists when Zimmerman shot him. Simple question: if you carried a pistol and someone knocked you down and began beating you, what would you do? And please don't try the deflection of "I wouldn't be there in the first place" or the lie of "I'd do nothing". Both are total bullshit.

Zimmerman was acquitted on all charges. It was self-defense. It doesn't matter if you don't like it. It doesn't matter if you dislike Zimmerman. He was BY LAW legally defending himself.

I have not followed the Rittenhouse case very closely. But what I've read so far it seems that he too was legally defending himself. We'll have to see what else comes out at trial.

I will put this right up front, someone points a gun at me and I have my pistol, they will be shot. I wouldn't wait hoping they aren't going to pull the trigger.

To your accusation, if I "side with" someone who defends themselves and are found innocent of any charges from that defense, it says nothing good about me?

So what does it say about those who wish to ignore the rule of law and substitute their own opinion and emotional rhetoric for it? It seems to me that's what those at the capital did and EXACTLY THE SAME THING you have been railing against since January 6th.

Perhaps it's time for you to go sit and rethink your position.

Comshaw

I've been that way for years now.

If anyone watched the Prosecution cross of Rittenhouse yesterday, and still thinks he's going to jail - you're an idiot.

Of course, a prosecutor is a government attorney. That means he was probably a C student at a lower-tier law school.

We're living in an age where "military cosplay with live ammo" has been redefined as "self defense" .

No Rob... your pedo terrorist comrades just fucked up and paid the ultimate price for it.

Learn the life lesson .... If you're going to be a rioting terrorist and decided to go violently attack, thus starting a fight with someone carrying a rifle, take more than a skateboard.

And then move on :)
