slashdot is pretty good today..err yesterday.

I skimmed cluelessly along until I got to the story about the European Union voting to ban Apple Macintosh computers by 2006. (2009, maybe, but...)

I forgot to mention in my geek thread that making SlashDot your home page is a sign that you're one step away from Ubergeekness. A colleague of mine sent a mass email round to everyone he knew when his name appeared on the front page of Slashdot after he posted some comment there.

Oh, man...

Where does that put me on the spectrum if my home page is about:blank?

Me, too. I want the software to just go ahead and load already, so I can use it. For me, document-centered computing is counter-intuitive. I have tools and I use them. The toolbox is a better analogy than the briefcase. The integration of the web with the desktop is for someone else. I don't browse my toolbox, I want it organized so I can lift out the tool I need with no rummaging.

Hell, I don't browse my briefcase, either.

about: blank is the best page in the world.

Evening Raphy. Good to see you, although I can't summon Vella's enthusiasm for your crotch. Come to think of it, Vella, why are you excited by his crotch?

I think it's the belt buckle. You know how she loves all things shiny.

Does it have anything to do with tethers and whips, or alternately, sugar plums?
