Realistically, I'm not sure I would want a harem--but we're just talking fantasy here, right? Imaginary country, politics, etc?
So I can have the best of the situation, without the worst. I suppose that ideally I would want a break from individual wives now and then--you know, variety. Different colors, shapes, and sizes, personalities. But they need to keep themselves company, too. They should be semi-bisexual, that's the ticket. Sort of semi-satisfied in their harem, but never completely satisfied--because I'm the king/prince/whatever.

I would want 3 or 4 in my own personal harem. No, no, NOT for sexual play. I want them to keep my place clean. And we would always have enough people for a rousing game of Clue or monopoly.

My now deseased grandfather was a small time oil shiek in Algeria,and he DID HAVE 3 WIVES.
The money he brought in would be upper middle class by USA standards....but by Algerian standards and prices...he was loaded and could buy for all 3 of his wives equally.
As to his harem....Tech it is illegal to have one....but back then the inspectors looked the other way when they found out,or maybe my grandfather bribed em.
