If you had the ability to play any professional sport at the highest level, which one

My choice would be baseball, hands down. I've always
loved the tradition, the great personalities, and the history.
It's not unusual for some guys to play 20 years.
I don't know of any other major team sport where
that happens.

And as George Carlin said, football is played on a gridiron.
Baseball is played in a park.

Olympic swimmer. Love the sport, don't want a lifelong career, and it's a chance of a lifetime.

Hockey.

Though baseball is my favorite sport, I'd want to win the Stanley Cup.

#1 they engrave your name on the thing for all-time
#2 you get to take it home for a day.

Ain't nothing cooler than that in all of team sports.

football (soccer) ... can play that for longer then 20 years too i'd play for crystal palace wouldnt get the BIG money but i'd be happy playing for a team i support :)

hmm

Baseball is the first sport that came to my mind too.
I think I am going to go with Golf though. Kind of like a leisurely stroll down the nice grassy slopes.
However right now I would kill people in the gallery with every hit because I have no idea where that little white ball is going.

Agreed Miles, baseball is my first choice, with hockey being a close second. I played hockey for 10 years in a pick-up league, and there just weren't that many scouts stopping by unfortunately.

Tennis

I competed when I was young, but my hormones took over.

It Must Be A Girlie Thing! LOL

I Would Wanna Be The Female Version Of Ian Miller:)

So The Answer Would HAVE Ta Be, Equestrian Riding!

It Would However, Be Cool To Be A Mountain Bike Racer Or A Diver:)

Gotta go with basketball

I would have to say basketball for me. I think I've been walking only a short time longer than I've been dribbing (baby food as an infant [or adult] is not included). Seriously though, I love the sport. Of the major sports, it has some of the best creativity involved for acrobatic scores, and no one play makes or breaks the game in the same way it does in the other sports with lower scores. On any given night, a player can shine repeately, putting up 15 or 20 great shots, where as in most of the other sports, a great day is often defined by 2 scores. ;o) For me the kicker is my kid. Everything is "b-ball daddy", as Gilly Bean can likely attest. The little guy's 2 1/2 yrs old, and knows basketballs, hoops and can even get a few good dribble bounces off. Only thing I gotta watch out for is when my buds and I play in the driveway, not to run the little guy over when he busts in wanting to play. =)

ooo big suprise here :)

Basball. I loved playing it and i come from a big sports family.
Actualy had some family go pro in Hocky, boxing... and yep Baseball :) So i'd like to keep the famly name going in Baseball as that seems to be the sport most of us are in.

Ahhh the want to play the sport again :( oh well those days are gone.

Thanks for rubing salt in a guys wonds miles hehe.

Hmm... I'd love to ride bareback broncs, but they don't let girls do that :( so, i'd say the career i almost had... grand prix jumper riding. there's nothing quite like riding a horse ever 5 and 6 foot jumps

I think, instinctively, I'd say Hockey. I was fortunate enough to play D1 college hockey in the CCHA, but sadly, those days are long since gone.

I guess, as I think about it, Golf sounds nice. Hitting the little white ball around on some of the most beautiful real estate on earth for money.... not a bad gig.

I wouldn't mind racing cars either. That's the testosterone talking there.

I hear you, fly. Every time I walk past the baseball gloves in a sporting goods store I can't help trying a few on.

You realize you are getting old when you aren' young enough to play major league baseball.

Golf! No coach. No schedule except the one you set for yourself. Travel to all the beautiful courses and areas of the country and world. And best of all, if you are one of the top 12 in the USA, you get to go kick some whiny European ass every 2 years.

I think I would have to go with FIA GT racecar driver. I would love to race at Le Mans and have the finacial backing to do it everyear.

A close second would probably have to be basketball. I always enjoyed it so much more then baseball.

soccer and hockey or my favorite sports to play, there fast, physical, and exciting. And if you play with intensity give you a great work. ( I had to stop playing soccer for about a year becouse of knee pain and gained ten pounds. )

On professional level it would be baseball. Better pay and a better chance of a long career.

BASKETBALL RULES

OK, this is easy.......baseball is my favorite sport (GO CARDS!), but if I had the ability I wouldn't want to share the space with 9 other goons with hats on all the time (how are the ladies gonna know who you are?) so hands down, get laid, get paid, be a playa's playa, my choice is BASKETBALL.

Has anyone SEEN the groupies hanging around the lockerrooms of this lovely sport? I mean Jesus!!! Baseball, football, soccer, and hockey combined don't have the recognition, money, or fun of basketball. And if you're good enough you can hang around as long as your knees are good (paging Moses Malone). In basketball you also get a nickname automatically. I always wanted one of those.

How many women know the non-too-beautiful Jordan, Bird, or Shaq on sight? Now how many women know the good looking all American ballers A. Rod, Jeter, or Chipper Jones? That's what I thought.

MARXIST

But if it wasn't about the sex, money, fame, or fun I'd choose baseball.

Though its not a real sport I would choose to compete in Sprts enteratinment field of Wrestling

American football

I played (quarterback) football and (pitcher) baseball in high school...wasn't good enough in either sport to play college ball, but I enjoyed playing football more than baseball.

A lot of professional QB's play for 12 to 15 yrs, make a lot of money, and attract a lot of babes...

Would have to say ice hockey. And, strangely enough, I wouldn't want to be a big goal scorer. I've always had a dream of being the best defensive forward and face-off specialist in the league. A guy like Steve Kaspar (If you know who that is you know what I mean, if you don't, forget about it). Oh yeah, and I'd have to play for the Montreal Canadiens because even though they've not been real good for several years now, they have the most history/tradition and are the most storied (sp) in NHL history.

I'd definetely choose football (or soccer to you american ingrates)
When I was young it was my dream to play soccer for China (still is, in my more delerious moments)

Basketball would be a close second, although I'd have to grow about a foot first....
