Is it true that if you don't go to college, you will spend the rest of your life performing menial labor with extremely low wages?

The ONLY way to be successful in this world is to go through college.

Many people who graduate from college will end up performing menial labor for extremely low wages. Those with advanced degrees in a liberal arts field are particularly "at risk."

Nah, all you need to do is manufacture a youtube pop song, wait till it goes viral, then invest the money from your 15 minutes of chat show fame.

Gangnam Style...

So anyone who didn't earn a BA/MA/PhD in science or engineering is destined to work menial jobs?

What is "liberal arts" anyway?...

You could start your own business.

One of my wife's cousins was a university drop-out. He was working evenings as one of two employees in a friend's new fast food joint and became a partner when they opened a second outlet. They grew to several hundred outlets and sold out to become hoteliers, sold out, started more restaurants, sold out, became hands-on property investors developing new businesses...

His father kept hoping that he "would get a proper job", despite being worth more than the whole of the rest of the extended family added together.

He did get his degree - ten years late.

nah. i never went and i'm doing ok.

i know of plenty of people who have degrees and work shit jobs. life takes a weird turn and they couldn't use their degree except to wipe their ass with. i know people with dgrees who CHOOSE not to work the field they trained for, as in, working in a greenhouse with plants and such and are very happy.
college degrees now are a dime a dozen. you can't swing a dead cat now without hitting someone with one.
