its just that simple. if you call yourself whatever-American ... well then you are not an American.

we need America to come together, not give groups the prissy right to be separate but equal. there is no separate but equal.

so, are you an American or something else?

Native American....tell me again how that makes me not an American...

And how about African American?

That one actually doesn't make sense....are you African or American?? You can't be from both places. I guess if you have dual citizenship you could or if you grew up there and immigrated that transitional generation could call themselves _______ American but the 1st gen American kids couldn't.

I'm white-heterosexual-American, so guess I'm not American. Oh well, darn, no great loss.

Native American .... hum. what was America called before the invaders took it over. and by Invaders, I mean the non American obama?

also, Native American is a perfect example as to what happens when people like obama take away guns from citizens. now, we all know that obama loves to murder people

sorry princess, you are only an American male

No, in fact there's no such thing as "America." Its just a geographic territory with a regime. A nation is a people who share something real, a territory with a gaggle of peoples with nothing in common is simply that a territory with a gaggle of peoples.

The "American" boat sailed when diversity became the civil religion. Its done, put a fork in it. Fake, imaginary, burnt toast.

"American" is for state worshiping princesses. I'll be something real.

I think it's sort of racial/cultura/ethnicity thing. When an African American person calls themselves African American they're not calling themselves literally from Africa you know.

When I was young, we were at a party, and this college age know-it-all woman, with a few too many drinks, was pontificating about something. I don't remember what. I also had a few too many drinks, but not enough to make her attractive. All I remember is she kept harping about African-Americans, native-Americans, Asian-Americans, and 'white' people.

After about five minutes of her using the PC term for every minority or hyphenated Americans she could think of, and then 'white' people. I, not to subtly, informed her that I preferred to be called a European-American. She looked at me, and said something about white people don't count. A buddy of mine said he wanted to be called a Canadian-American, and soon everyone was adding more and more hyphenated names for her.

She never did call me an European-American, I was a jerk-American.

Is the US the whole of the Americas?

What about South American, Central American, North American?

Og (British which includes born Welsh of English/Scots ancestors)

Said like a true Idiot-American

Last time I looked, Israelis could be official Americans.

So, does that concession extend to the 20% of Israelis that are Arabs or is the concession reserved for Jewish Israelis? ;)
