[T]here are no figures here about income inequality, or percentage of the population with health insurance, or anything like that. This exercise implicitly assumes that lower taxes are always good and higher government spending is always bad. There is nothing here about how clean the air is or how many children are growing up in poverty. The only point is that if you find the Republican mantra of lower taxes and smaller government appealing, and if you care only about how fast the economy is growing, not how that growth is shared, you should vote Democratic. Of course, if you do care about things like economic inequality and children's health, you should vote Democratic as well.

Who needs facts and figures... If you REALLY BELIEVE that republicans are better for the economy, doesn't that make it true?

How do you explain the vast expansion of government under FDR?

Classic - faced with hard, verifiable facts that show how Democratic presidents invariably lead to a better economy - we get...

FDR.

Tell you what. If FDR rises from the crypt and runs for office - no one should vote for him. Point conceded.

With all due respect, how relevant is that to our current situation, after all Lit wasn't even around then so there was no one available to solve the problems.

You could almost hear the stuttering as he typed that.

Excellent job vette with setting the mood of your panic.

Nothing like going back 60 years for a point.. That's not reaching at all is it?

How do you explain the vast corruption under Richard Nixon? How about the Iran-Contra affair under Reagan? They're just as relevant.

That article does not give hard facts. It gives averages and admits that the numbers may have nothing at all to do with who the president is or what party he is a member of.
At least be honest in your argument.
