If there was a god...

I can relate to much of what he said about alcoholism. I myself almost went to rehab - almost. It came to the point where I could no longer imagine myself having a good time without booze. If I didn't have a drink for a while I would feel myself getting the shakes. I was on both my highschool and college wrestling teams and kept a very good physique. I would look at myself in the mirror some days and see an emaciated form where the wrestler used to be. I never made it to rehab because thankfully I had friends and family and a really good woman with me to help kick my ass back into shape. The tipping point came when I drove home drunk and hit my beloved dog of nine years, killing him. I couldn't help but think that that could have been a person, or worse still - someone's kid. I still drink, only much much less and I often keep myself in check by keeping it in moderation. I still like to make fun of Britney though.

note to cum

congrats on your getting things in order.
if you're ever about to waver, read E A Poe's short story,
'the black cat' available online.

Now not poking fun at someone is a national top headline. Jeanne Moos covered it on CNN and now Eye To Eye With Craig Ferguson On Spears

Like I said, I hope he starts a new trend for reporters and I sincerely hope that the rest of the world realises that laughing at someone like Britney Spears makes them even more fucked up than she is.

May I rub the belly of a very wise man?

I'd say go for it, but I don't know where Ferguson lives, so you're on your own.
Coy, aren't we? I wasn't referring to Craig.

My sad attempt at being a flirty Jill. Never mind.

Are you Jill? If not, stop it. Just be yourself.

Yeah, you can rub my belly, but only for a second. I'm really ticklish.

Are you Jubal? You're certainly acting like him. :p

You never know. I may be. I only read about him in the future when he was older. I have time.

Craig Ferguson has been my favorite late-night talk show host ever since he took over for O'Brien. His Honesty, heart and humor are THE model for others to follow.

Kudos, Mr. Ferguson.

Yes. Indeed I hope so too.
I've wanted to take her and shake her for a long time - tell her to get her act together, before she came apart. It wasn't ever funny to me, but it was like a slow mo train wreck. I couldn't look away.
Then I saw the hair and tat weekend. That was my slap in the face. She's real, and it's horrible watching someone come apart.
That some people are still laughing scares me.

One person's misery is another's comedy . . .

Not to mention that delicious burr in his voice :catroar:
And I am very glad that he said it. It was fascinating to hear the audience getting ready to laugh over and over- and then, they understood tha he was serious. At that point his jokes (which were all about himself at that point) got about half the response they would have otherwise.

But, Jubal, you say you'd thank God for Ferguson, - if there were a god. Why not thank Ferguson himself and cut out the intermediary?

Already did that. I was merely looking to thank any omnicient powers that might be responsible for this flash of sanity. If I can track that being down, I might be inclined to worship.

Just an unusually sane man, that's all :)
