How would you feel about that?

You real first name or last name or any combination thereof.

Paranoid and or mortified

Someone registered my real first name, which is why I post under Mischka. In retrospect, I'm glad I'm not posting under my real name for privacy's sake.

I does feel odd to see people post derivations of Mischka as their name, though.

I'm new, but been "lurking" a while, and everytime I see one person's posts, I do a double take.

No one here knows my last name, so I wouldn't worry if just out of the blue someone appeared with their nick, matching my real full name. Well maybe I would worry, but I wouldn't make a big deal of it, I certainly wouldn't confront that person, or ask Laurel to have them change it. People are allowed to use any nick they want here, by bringing attention to the board that someone is using my real name as a nick, would let everyone know exactly who I am. Why do that?

Lo

Someone did. No biggie. It is not like that person did it on purpose or knew my name, or that anyone would guess it. No one would ever guess my whole real name - it is just rather unique.

edited cause I'm an idiot and didn't read the question right!

Someone has my real first name as a nick here. I feel pretty weird whenever I see it because it feels like they should be talking to me when I know they don't have any idea that I have that name.

I'm not asking what you'd do, lo, just how you would feel.

When I first came on here, I was going to use my real name as my user name but some one already was using it and I did not want to have a username like with ________23456 at the end of it... but I don't mind about seeing my real name floating around in here. :)

I know you're not asking what to do, just answering my own way kid.

It PISSED me off.....That friggen April I can't believe she's using my name>>>>>>>>>

:p

makes me wonder who they are~why they use that name or screenname. if it's thiers or what meaning that name has to them.

it's also kind of weird when i see posters using screenames that i know friends of mine from off the board use.

The only thing that might make me feel funny is if they used my last name for a nic. But to be honest with my last name I don't think it will ever happen.

KM, there was this girl who used my real first name as her nick on a live chat I used to frequent. It was *so* disconcerting when people would call out "hi ____!!"

The worst part of it was that she was a total cunt. And I mean that in the not-so-nice way. So then when she wasn't there people would be saying, "Man, that ___ is such a bitch!"

Well, they may have been talking about me, I guess I'll never be sure. ;)

When I see a nic that is my name, or my r/l nic name I want to respond to it.

More so in chat, than on the boards. Chat can move so fast, I see my name and a small part of me thinks that person is talking to me.. until I think a moment.

I've always wondered why Glamorilla felt the need to use my real name as his username, but I kinda like him so I let it slide.

Love,

Glamorilla Smith.

I might be paranoid at first, thinking that somebody was jerking me around, then I'd probablly realize that it's like real life- it's a numbers game.

Depending where I've lived & the year, I've had as many as 7 of me in my phonebook. It was normal for me not to be the only me in classes at school( first name). There were 3 of me on a team I played on ( surname)There are at least 3 of me in my company. There are 2 of me on my street. It's not a conspiracy.

Most people don't have my name in real life, but it's kind of popular in cyberlife, as far as real style nicks go.
