If Our Media Really Was So Liberal

The media can be liberal and still recognize that the Clintons are slime balls.

My friend recently worked on a project for one of her courses that had to do with all the stories that should be made public but aren't because of censorship. Apparently, big businesses and companies that sponsor various branches of the media have at least some control of what is said and what isn't. I'm not sure if this is just some "conspiracy" theory or if it's the truth, but I thought I'd offer it up all the same.

Hey Busty, can you ask your friend what sources she used? I'm supposed to write an article for my International News class about censorship within the media for my next term. You know, how governments cover up stuff etc.

And we ALL know how liberal big business is. :)

If you had to pick a liberal big business, Disney would be a good choice. And they own ABC. The parent of CBS owns MTV. When they "rock the vote" they aren't pushing conservatives.

The media has a liberal bias. That is a fact. Why? Because the conservative side is populated by Christians who want to censor the media from all things unChristian. Therefore the media, who does not want to be censored, will have a liberal bias because they are liberals. Why? Because there are less liberals for censorship of what the media wants to say than there are conservatives for censorship of the what the media wants to say.

Is it traumatically suppressive? Not really.

It is a fact of life, an institution will be more biased toward those that agree with it the most.

And how much money do you think they rake in for 'rocking the vote'? They love liberals the way a ho' loves her tricks.

Yeah, and those good Christians all own stock in the media they loathe so much, I'll betcha.

There is your answer, Lav. The media went after Clinton because he's a Christian.

Why is it in the media that liberal is synonamous with weak.

The West Wing had more things like that, but I can't remember them.

I guess the words "No wrongdoing" have no meaning to you.

There's a book out now that details why Clinton was so bashed. It was some right-wing conspiracy. I saw the guy on the daily show. It's all true.

Actually, from the guy who wrote that book, he said that CLinton and Paula Jones did something, but it was consensual.

just a sad sidenote...

Though Lavy, I know it's not really the focus of the point you're trying to make, it seems to me so often that when people talk about the 'media', they always seem to be referring to television. And I can't think of a better example of oxymoron than 'television journalism'. Television is an entertainment medium, not an information medium. If you learn something from television, it kind of by accident, and pales from what one learns exploring alternate media. When it comes to newspapers, magazines, radio, you'll find every point of view expressed. Maybe tv seems liberal because it's not about the news.
