and had the same intelligence I have now, what would my life be like?

Would I be bitter and frustrated at my treatment by a racist society and become a criminal?

Would I start a terrorist movement to fight back?

Would I accept my circumstances and make the best of it?

Would I give up and sink down into the twilight world of drink and drugs?

I reckon I would become a terrorist to exact revenge, if not any tangible gains, on a society that pays lip service to racial equality. But then only to those blacks who are considered acceptable. In other words, blacks who are parodies of whites.

I would certainly hate white people.

Blacks are oppressed by other blacks in Africa(for the most part). The white dominated regions have mostly gone back to local control. granted, the governments are ripe with corruption and leadership is all the more difficult because allegiancea re often more to local leaders rather than acentral power structure.

Not so much obsessed with Bush's 'war', but extremely angry at a man whom I consider to be politically and Presidentially inept, who feels that to gain and keep political weight at home, he has to use the economic strength of his country to attract 'allies' from around the globe. Allies who are far too willing to send their own sons off to die for a cause which is pure home grown America.

And without asking any of their citizens what they thought about the idea...

If we'd been asked we might well have been in full support. But we weren't. It was just assumed.

Bush is not a favorite of mine and I'll not defend him but I do recognize the situation the US was in post 9/11. There was no response that was not full of assured backlash and in the end our policy had to put defending ourselves as priority one. Many mistakes have been made (many more in internal policies which you might not be fully aware of) but if Bush stands behind his word then its hard to fault him more than has already been done. His is a bonehead, but its who we got until 2004 (though the Dems have no candidate waiting int he wings. Is it any wonder the intelligent are independents).
