With infection rate fairly high among the population already in the US, I don’t think closing borders at this time can help much.
Plus compare to the number of people legally crossing the border every day, the number of illegal immigrants doesn’t seem to make a real difference. And it’s not Fauci’s job to care about one entering the US legally or not. If he had to make an recommendation about border control, it would apply to all people.
