If a woman terminates her pregnancy by manually punching her midsection, is that considered a legal abortion? What if the woman seeks assistance from a friend, and they both punch her midsection to terminate the pregnancy. Is that considered a legal abortion?

Can/should the woman be charged? Can/should the friend be charged?

Is it legal to punch somebody if they (literally) ask for it?

Well, that's one way to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. I wonder what happened to the woman? Not from a legal standpoint but from a health care standpoint.

Safe and effective birth control, adequate sex education, available health care, and the ability to support children adequately are essentials to preventing the need for many abortions. Funny that the right is trying to put up road blocks to all the preventative measures. Definitely a War on Women.

Nope. But it was well known case in 2004/2005. man was charged. Woman was not.

Link.

I took a look at the Texas judiciary online to to get more details on this

he beat her, stepped on her abdomen on a couple occasions so firmly it left, and I quote " massive bruising"

and you're wondering why charges weren't pressed against her

so if some guy beats the shit out of you... your thinking is that you should get arrested for getting hurt?

and post script

trying to end her pregancy was his legal defense

not nessecarily what happened

it would be kinda like saying that OJ really didnt have anything to do with the death of his wife

except she never asked for it.. unless you think all women are " asking for it" by being pregnant

I pasted the wrong link. The case was supposed to be about a woman and man that together, agreed to the stomping. I'll get the correct link when I find time.

A good shove down a flight of stairs would look like an accident...

Actually, you got the right case... and you are right, she did want to end the pregnancy

But... ( the infamous " but")...she refused to take the stand in the case or make any more comment.. thusly the defense had a lot of free room to make the case that she asked him to stomp her

that might have even worked, if it hadn't been the beating to her face , neck and arms..... having never been pregnant myself, I can still hazard the guess that the face is not an important part of the childbirth experience

call me crazy
