IE help please

As I surf this occurs randomly.
Internet explorer comes up with a fatal error in my user.exe file.

I have reinstalled internet explorer 6 with no change.
any ideas?

Hi.

The error you are having was happening recently( October 2003) and TYPICALLY means that a new or different search bar has been added to IE and causing problems for you. It isn't really caused by a virus, but by a "parasite", a program that was deliberately added by some rogue link.

Not 100% sure this is the problem that you have, but it sure sounds like the one that has been going around.

And now for my usual IE advice

Ditch IE, get a browser like mozilla Firebird (www.mozilla.org) or opera (www.opera.com)

I prefer Firebird, using it and it's companion email program Thunderbird. I find both to be much faster and reliable then their micro$oft counterparts, as well as having better junk mail filters and built in pop-up blockers.
