Ideas per day??

Just curious how many thoughts come to you daily.

I seem to be constantly flooded with new ideas. So much that it makes it difficult to remember them all. I started a .txt just to have a place to put them all.

I would say I average about six per day. Most of them no good for more than a one time scene, but some of them fairly intricate.

As part two I'll say that most of them hit me in the shower, or on my commute.

I average about four or five a day. At least two of which piss off everybody within a ten foot radius. I'm a lot more prone to just have a charachter and write around that though which leads to many dead ends.

That happens to me all the time with the dead ends. A lot of my ideas get nixed because they are sooo trite also. For example;

Parent/teacher conference encounter
New car test drive encounter
Businessman/secretary encounter
Mom's best friend encounter
Wife's sister encounter
Subliminal/hypnosis encounter (gotta admit that I dig these though)

I have a DOC file that is two pages long (size 10 font) of story ideas I hope to one day finish.

Well a lot of my ideas are not sexual. While I think I'm a good erotic story teller I'm better at fantasy and sci-fi things. I like to tell "real" stories. My biggest reasons for writing on Lit are one I've been reading here for years and always wanted to contribute to something great. Two the community is great. Sir Hugs is the coolest and I look up to him a lot. Biexplicit too. Three the feedback is pretty good here, specially if you remember to ask for it. Four you aren't a writer if you don't write to be read. I have no respect for the authors who have volumes upon volumes locked in a closet. You may as well sing in the shower or dance in mirror.

On subject my ideas often revolve around nothing more than my waking up and saying this is what a dragon is thinking when he's sitting around the cave. Makes my work somewhat unfocused.

Really the number of ideas I develp varies depending on circumstances. Maybe 10 or 12 on average?

I'm not sure if I get a whole butt load (isn't that a fun way to measure amounts? Although, I'm not sure I would ever care to see that visual reputation) of ideas as much as I tend to get a lot of snippets.

I think of excellent starters, or excellent conclusions that are rather devoid of the rest of the story. Usually, thats why I have trouble finishing something - I have this part I love, and then from there, I feel like it goes down hill.

But, yeah, lots of great sentences and paragraphs.

Most of my ideas come from the fantasies that wander into my head while I'm enjoying myself. If the fantasy keeps coming back, getting more refined, it might end up in a story. But most times, it's a new fantasy the next time.

Other times, ideas for different stories come while I'm writing. I can waste a lot of time trying to put the new idea into the current work. It rarely works right.

well, maybe some of my seed will sprout Story Ideas. Weirder things have happenned. Usually in my stories.
