Ideas for stepbrother/sister relationship plot

I'm thinking of a story about stepbrother and stepsister who always found each other as perfect companions in life taking that relationship further and into marriage eventually.

They are not related by blood but they grew together and know each other almost entirely.

So what are the plots and interesting situations that you'd love to read about? I'm not talking about sex scenes - I'm talking about life situations.

When I'm thinking about that story I know I want to show the initial awkwardness between them and how different their relationship is from a normal bf/gf.
I also want to explore somewhat the social pushback that they get from parent and friends, but not make it a downer.

I admit I didn't really explore incest genre before.

Ideas?

I suppose, step brother/sister is not truly incest, or even taboo; obviously they are well over 18yo by the time they get together.

If they're in a relationship I guess family get togethers would be interesting. Would one parent blame the other...? Would there be a fear other family members head down the same road...when they go to stay with other family, sleeping arrangements? ! children?

Would they keep the relationship secret? I guess that's where some eroticism could sneak in...
