Idea: mom vs. girlfriend - interracial twist

Background: Son grows up with a doting single mom - let's just say that his dad died in an accident, so she becomes very protective, forbidding risky activities and discouraging dating.

He's a smart kid, though, and gets a full scholarship to a very good college nearby. During his time there, he falls in love with the film industry and decides he wants to continue his education on the west coast. Mom wants him home because she loves where she lives and doesn't want to lose him.

The tipping point comes during his senior year when he starts bringing his girlfriend around. She's smart, polished, ambitious - and since it's me writing the story, she's black. Mom isn't outwardly racist but is uncomfortable around her son's girlfriend - again, doting single mom.

She decides to try to break them up. Her first attempts at outright sabotage fail, so she decides to, shall we say, redirect him with more 'suitable' women. Needless to say, she fails, but he doesn't know his mom's behind it.

Since he's 50-50 on staying home or going on to California, she gets desperate - and decides to seduce her son herself. She's an attractive woman, of course, and though she has a reputation as an upstanding religious woman and solid community member, even having been an abstinence adviser, she's pretty experienced sexually. So she flirts with her son, who initially dismisses him, but he takes notice after enough effort. Meanwhile, the girlfriend has made her decision - she's going to Cali, with or without her boyfriend.

The girlfriend tries to persuade him to come to California, but he doesn't seem sold even after an amazing night of dinner, dancing and sex. Next up? Mom's turn - girlfriend doesn't know what Mom has up her sleeve, and neither does her son, but she can be very, very persuasive.

I could write the ending either way - either a good boy who stays home and throws himself into his work while he 'takes care' of his mother...or a self-assured young man who defeats his overbearing mom, married the love of his life, and ends up making 'all' the money in California.

I kind of think that, knowing Lit's demographic, they would want to see the mom win. Of course, if one looks at the stories I write, the moms are usually the bad guys, and if I wanted to write it so the girlfriend "should" win, then having the mom force herself on her son is a good way to accomplish that. Not sure how to pull that off and make it erotic rather than Lifetime original movie.

That said, there are other possibilities than "girlfriend wins" and "mom wins." One such possibility is the sharing idea - girlfriend decides she needs a side lover of her own and may in fact choose her boyfriend's mom. Another one is that the girlfriend and mom decide they have a lot in common, the son can't decide, and the ladies both dump him for each other.

I'm finishing up a four-part story now and may work on this or another variant afterwards - I also have a more "mainstream" novel I'm starting.

Note that I did not describe any sex, merely stated that at least one incident occurred, no details. I've seen a lot of that. We can write, "He had a reputation for going after underage girls," as long as we're not more specific, like naming any. I'm very careful not to write minors into sexual situations.

As for animals, well, I may tease readers by mentioning that a cowhand took a fancy to a couple of cute calves, or that an orgy-viewer thought he saw an Alsatian in the action, but I go nowhere near unicorns and werewolves. And it's quite okay to mention tentacles. Where would SI be without tentacles?

Not sure what the problem is, surely there are black people who play in the nbl? Sorry if i got it wrong that you have to be tall to play basketball, and I recently about someone who played grodiron because at 6-10 he was too short for his preferred field position. Not american and dont follow sports that closely, was not even 100% that nbl was basketball, just took a guess. He could play tiddliewinks if it fits the story. I just thought he would be good at playing with balls and would fall for the son, please keep some humour.
