So rather than a thread about an idea for a story, this is a thread about where one can get ideas for stories. I'll post my thoughts on what makes good inspiration, and others can posts replies with there ideas for where to get ideas.

-songs, especially of the offbeat, ballad, folksy sort of nature
-your own encounters, even the most trivial, can be played up, retold how you'd like it to have been
-dreams you have, even if they're not sexual in nature; if it's interesting, try jotting it down and seeing if you can "sex it up"
-people you meet briefly - the perfume spritzer at the mall, sexy new single mom in the neighborhood, etc., and get that "hey, baby" reaction to... tell the story of what would happen if you had the guts (and the right situation) to come on to the person, and what happens from there

I would say my well is drty, or that you stole all my ideas, but just not true, alas....

I also get ideas from comments in posts on other forums....

Real life

I get ideas from all over the place. One recently came from a song, and another came from a pair of earrings a librarian was wearing. Many come from someone I see or bits of conversation I hear.

movies....often a scrap of dialogue or an image, rather than a whole plot or character.
