Idea: Clothing is the original sin

I'm imagining a group of people in a fringe nudist religion. In particular, they avoid clothing because the sin of eating from the tree of knowledge resulted in knowing that nudity was "wrong," so clearly treating nudity as being "wrong" is also a sin. This does not mean they won't wear clothing to protect from the weather or whatever. People might dress up in the cold and will generally wear shoes and socks. Some women would wear bras, especially sports bras when being active. However, clothing would not be used to hide appearance. Of course, there's also the more radical believers who feel clothing is always a sin.

Just an idea that popped into my head. Feel free to turn it into a story.

Maybe they feel that wearing clothing is "naughty" and they only do it in risqué situations. For example, they put on clothes to have sex. They would be mortified to be seen wearing clothing in public. And there are "dress" clubs where women will slowly and theatrically put on clothing up on a stage, while the naked men in the audience whoop and holler.

Part of the humor is that it is disrupting an existing religion's belief structure. While a story about a religion of sex-worshippers would be interesting, it would be a very different idea, and one that has been done many times already.

Yeah but then you would not be pissing anybody off. Which actually in this case would not be that bad an idea since well, look at what they do to abortion doctors and that is simply because the really old guy in a white dress and pointy hat they call pope said he doesn't like it.

If you really go and make fun of religion what do you think they would do?

Similar vein of thought, has anybody else noticed that the bishops and pope wear a hat that is rather witch-ish? I mean seriously, put a brim on those things and you got witches in white, black, purple and red.

Not to mention they are guys, and wear dresses, I mean seriously, the only difference between a robe and a dress is the name. Why don't they just come right out and admit they are gay, I mean it's not like the priests are taking young women down into the basement for sex.

That´s a good twist. The dances could have themes like "Getting ready for rain", with the woman putting on her raincoat and boots.

I mean since Catholic Priests can get married anybody taken down to the basement for sex likely is not married to the priest. 99.9% of the time that is an underage male who is either a member of the choir or an alter boy.

Not to say it's not possible to get a woman to have sex with a priest, I beleive many are married with children. The priest is just an easily accessed partner for sex.
