I'd like to take this moment to apologize

To everyone here in the Lit community,

After reading a number of replies to some of my posts, it seems that I have gotten off on the wrong foot with many of you. I thought it was an isolated incident in one, but it seems to have occurred in several others as well. I understand that I'm fairly new here so I thought it be best that I make this general post here for all to see (I know I made another post like this in one of my other threads but not everyone may see it.)

I apologize and deeply regret anything offensive you may have felt from my posts. That was never my intention. It just seemed to me that the people here were pretty laid back and easy-going and I thought my personality and humor would fit in with no problems. But apparently my jokes/comments are only funny to me. It was stupid of me to assume that everyone else would feel the same way. I should have taken that into account beforehand but I didn't. I promise to try and stay away from making anymore posts like that.

Again, I'm sorry and I hope that I can continue to get to know all of you.

Sincerely,
Phoenix6666

Welcome to Lit, Phoenix. As Bobmi already stated on one of your posts, we tend to be a bit leery of people with lower post-counts that may be coming in to just post nonsense and then leaving - Trolls, if you will. We here in the How To board tend to be a bit more politically correct than some of the other boards, but I think we're also the most willing to forgive when someone admits to a mistake they've made. Now that we know you're sticking around, hopefully people will be able to take your posts a little more seriously - or at least take an educational approach when answering them, instead of merely flaming you.

Props to you for being mature enough to post an apology! Many posters don't care who they piss off, since it's just the internet. It's nice to see someone thinking about their actions for a change.

Welcome to Lit and the How To boards! :rose:

It's really easy to misinterpret what someone says on a message board because all we have to go on is the written word. Without the benefit of vocal inflections or nonverbal cues, people might easily read more into something than was intended to be there. Just one of the pitfalls of this mode of communicating, I suppose.

i dunno what posts you thought were offensive... either i get your sense of humor or i just missed it all together. in any case, like others have said, it's nice to see someone being so thoughtful toward others people's feelings.

don't sweat it. welcome to lit.

Eilan took the words right out of my mouth.

Props for apologizing and explaining yourself. Here's to a smoother ride for you.
