if you're impatient you can nuke it for a couple of seconds. No more than 5 seconds or so for a pint and *maybe* 20 - 25 seconds for a half gallon.

I had to do this the other day. I now own about 8 spoons and like 30 or 40 knives and forks ( they came as a set) due to casualties of icecream and such

Braums makes the best icecream, but I think you can only get it in Texas and Oklahoma. MMM, cherries pecans and cream, or if I want something less sweet, black walnut, oh, and can't forget mint chocolate chip, or orange a'peel. (the last one has candied orange peel in it. Its quite good, i prommise!
