Rogue knew it was a risk, but she couldn't help it she wanted to feel the sea breeze on her skin, she wanted to let the air cool her anguish over such loss at the Xavior manison. So she hit the boardwalk wear only a pink tanktop and gloves that only covered her hands, with this she had on short jeans shorts that had guys whistling at her long legs.

"Look but don't touch boys." She said to herself with a smile and a sigh. God, she wanted to be able to touch someone. She hadn't had any kind of contact with anyone since she was thirteen and put her only real boyfriend in a coma.

She had Gambit though, he liked him. She longed to be able to touch him, to kiss his lips to unzip his pants. She shook her head knocking the images out of her mind. "Let it go suga." She told her self. "It can't happen, unless there's a miracle."

She wondered if there was anyone out there immune to her powers. Someone the she could freely touch and not hurt or kill by just touching them.

Suddenly she heard someone scream as if in reply. Her head turned and she looked out toward the water. The sun was setting and she had to squint to see. Four men seemed to surround on younger guy on his hands and knees. They all held long umbrellas and were slamming them down on the poor guys back, hard enough that she could hear the metal rods meeting flesh.
"Mutant!" She heard one of the attackers cry, before slamming his umbrella down on the guys back with all his might.
Rogue groaned. "So much for my nice little walk." She said and darted out toward the attack.
The closer she got the better she could see all the bloody welts on the poor boy's, he was a boy no more than 19, back. The way they were hitting him he was lucky his back wasn't broken.
Without preamble Rogue grabbed two of the nearest men and flung them out into the sea far enough where they'd get back safely but would be to tried to do anything else. The other two men turned to her and raised their bats to her.
"Another one!" One shouted and charged. Rogue caught the umbrella and smiled at the man.
"Didn't your mama ever teach you, it's bad to hit a lady?" She said before she yanked the umbrella from him and grabbed his collar. With a flick of her wrist the man was trying to swim home with his buddies.
The fourth man cried out and ran away as fast as his legs would take him.
She smiled and nodded to herself a job well done.
The suddenly a hand clamped onto her bare forearm. Her eyes widened and her head snapped down. She expected a flood of memories and power, if in fact this guy was a mutant, but there was nothing. Only the powerful grip of the guys hand on her arm.
"Thank you." He groaned. Rogue could see his back was nearly torn apart. She started to say something but the boy collapsed into unconsciousness.

(alright I'll leave it there. Anyone else can join in. Please post your character in the OOC thread before posting here though.)

Ghost Wrangler

Natalie was in the school's garden, as usual. She found it easier to commune with her most familiar spirits there, alone, and away from the others and all of the crowds of spirits that surrounded all of them. The professor had taught her how to put up mental blocks to cushion against the din so many voices at once could cause in her head but it still took so much energy to make it work and she found herself exhausted in a crowded room, trying to keep all the voices out but the living and then select only one or two familiar spirits from that massive crowd pressing in on her mental walls to allow into her thoughts and vision. It was still so mcuh work for her...so she often preferred being alone. It gave her time to think and then the crowd around her was a small one and usually consisted of familiar faces and voices. Some that would go away for periods of time and return and one that was constant, she believed to be her spirit guide, the holocost girl, Mischa, who died at the age of twelve and who had been following Natalie around since Natalie was a baby. Mischa was the most benign, gentle spirit Natalie had ever encountered, her best friend, so Natalie always let her in. She hid very little from the girl, except of course some choice personal moments, like when she wanted to be alone with her boyfriends, and stuff like that, in which case, the child understood and would leave of her own accord.

At the moment, Natalie sat on a bench, the soft breeze bringing the scent of lavender and honeysuckle to her awareness as she breathed deeply, communicating in silence with Mischa, a familiar old sailor named Henry and a new spirit, Randall. She was trying to assess her safety with him around, was he really benign or was he an evil one trying to pry into her life like some had before? The evil ones caused her great pain in her life. When she was a child she had no control over who she let through to communicate with her and sometimes evil ones would masquerade as good to be let through and then reek havoc on her life once they were among theliving, and through her given the power to move and manipulate objects. Bad things had happened when the evil spirits got through, so many very bad things... She had to shake those memories away.
Natalie focused now on Randall, who seemed still quite unaware he was even dead. She and Mischa spoke gently with him trying to figure him out. Henry did his usual, talking about the ocean and ships, and fish.

A sound of movement, actual movement, not spiritual, shifted Natalie's focus and Henry and Randall faded away, soon dissappearing. Mischa was still present but faded into the background the way she had been taught to do to allow her friend some relief sometimes. Natalie turned to see who among the living it was that was approaching her.

OOC: Who'd like to hang out with Natalie?

(OOC: looks like I'll play two characters to get the story going.)

Colossus:

Peter liked to take walks in the garden. The fresh air and the smell of floors let his mind relax. After being accepted as a fully fledged X-men he spent a lot of time training and adjusting his power so that even while transformed he could still be gentle.
As he walked he saw the Ghost girl, Natalie. I fine name, he found it to roll off his tongue. She was a beautiful girl who's powers could easilly overwhelm her, had it not been for the professor. He wondered how the girl was doing since the prof. has past.
Walking up to her he saw her turn around, no doubt one of her ghost friends told her he was coming.

"Hello there, Natalie. Such a find day, how are you doing?" He asked her trying to hide his russian accent. He wanted to learn better english so hopefully he didn't sound too stupid.

Mirain

Name: Mirain
age: 19
looks: black wavy hair, big blue eys, toned and slime, 34 cc breasts, and tanned skin.
Abilitys: can read minds, can manipulate objects with her mind, and teleport.
(also she comes from wales so sometimes if she's angry or upset she speaks welsh)

Mirain lay down on the grass beside the mansion, sunbathing. She had no-one to use her mind reading skills on, and she felt quite lonely, lying un-noticed on the ground, bored she lifted anything that wasn't secured off the ground, she made the leaves dance in a pattern of a heart.
She sighed, she was lonely and bored... not a good combination....

"Hello there, Natalie. Such a find day, how are you doing?" asked Peter.

Natalie smiled and willed the others to dissappear, all except Mischa who simply faded even further into the background until she was certain there was a reason to go.

"Hi, Peter. I'm ok. What's new with you?" she asked, trying to ignore the glow of all the spirits surrounding him, like wathcing fireflies dance around in the night. If she never focused on any of them in particular they would not take a full shape for her. Right now, she preferred that. Peter seemed like a nice guys and she preferred to get to know him without the awareness of how very often everyone has an audience to their every moment.

Peter sighed taking in the beautiful smile of this girl before him. He raise his arms and did a kind of strech and sighed.

"I'm good, out enjoying the fesh air. I figured it would help my muscles relax if I took a walk." He smiled a her and put his foot on the end of the bench she was sitting on, leaning his wieght on his knee.

"What are you doing out here all by your lonesome?" he asked.

Standing on a hill overlooking the school, Draco Miyamoto looked at the pamphlet he had gotten from some kid. Being skilled at the art of reading people, he had already figured out that the kid was a mutant, and had determined that the school was in some way related to that. It made him think about what he had found out about his powers, and he had decided to visit the school. But, being both Musashi's descendant and having a former Detective in the NYPD for an uncle, he had learned that you should gather as much information as possible about a place before you enter it. As such, he had a pair of binoculars out and was examining the mansion that had been turned into a school.

He noted with an almost cold efficiency that the students were all mutants, some actually LOOKING different. He watched as a young man with big muscles, possibly Russian, from the looks, turn into solid metal, and a young woman walk through walls and statues. An interesting visual, to be sure. He turned his attention to studying the building itself for several long minutes, then put the binoculars away. He shrugged his backpack on, and then started running down the hill towards the place.

Natalie chuckled, "Peter, we're never alone, you know. Knowing me I thought you were already accustomed to that fact." she said standing, "Would you like some company on this walk of yours since you can't speak to any of the people hovering around you?" she asked, smiling in her sly knowing way.

Peter looked around playfully looking for these people floating around him. "People? Where?" He said his russian accent coming out thick. Then he smiled at her.
"I would love the pleasure of your company." HE stood up and held out his hand. "If you don't mind talking up." He said refering to just how tall he was compared to her.

Mirain lifted her head sharply, she could sense someone new, possibly watching them. She frownede and sat up searching around her, The ghost girl ...Natalie, and Peter . They were talking amongst eachother, probably didn't even notice her. She sighed, what was she sensing then or who?
She could feel it coming nearer...

On his way down, Draco realized he'd been spotted. It wasn't something he saw, more like something he felt. He started moving faster, running at full speed, then came out of the trees surrounding the mansion. He came to a dead stop in front of the gates, looking up at them, then pulling the pamphlet out.

Whoever it was they were fast, and their power was quite strong, Mirain just waited for it to come to her, She looked around, and still saw the same people.

Draco read through the pamphlet again, then put it in his backpack. He walked up to the gates, and examined them. He then pushed them open slowly, and stepped inside. He surveyed his surroundings, then started for the front doors of the mansion. He had to speak with this Xavier.

Mirain saw A man walking from the main gates. She was certain he wouldn't notice her, No one did here . She noticed he'd left the gates open, so she shut it using her powers, the gates making a clanging sound. She was so bored.... she picked at the grass by her feet

Draco heard the clang of the gates, and whirled, drawing both katanas he carried in one smooth motion. Seeing no one there, he looked around, still on his guard, and finally saw a young woman looking at him. He sighed, then sheathed the swords, and stretched, then turned again and walked towards the front door.

"This better be worth it."

Natalie laughed and took Peter's arm. "I like tall guys, you know." she said half-joking but flirtatiously. "Mischa and I argue about boys all the time. She thinks shorter boys are nicer but I like tall boys because they make me feel, well, safe and protected, I guess." she said. Then, she realized she should explain, "Mischa is my best friend. She's been with me since before I could remember. She's a girl who died in the halocaust. She likes our time so she spends a lot of time here with me, following me around and I guess living vicariously through me all the experiences she was robbed of by having had such a harsh life and dying so young."

Mirain chuckled as she saw the stranger withdraw his swords and spin around before notocing her and sheathing his swords.... worth it? worth what she wandered? She decided to have more fun and concentrating hard, she liffted him off the ground laughing...

Draco blinked, then drew his swords again, and closed his eyes, then flung one of them down, causing a minor quake nearby.

Peter smiled and held out his hand for her. "Then let's see if we can change mischa's mind about tall guys. Although she doesn't mind men of steel does she?" Peter laughed dispite himself, his sense of humor sometimes flew over the heads of these Americans.
"Come let us see how long it takes to walk to the lake and back." He said. "And never fear I will protect you against anything with my height."

Like any other day Fenixx started it with a groan and a quick shower. She had been in this little shit hole of a room for almost two years now. She wanted human conatact but, reading thier minds, never knowing what they would say, she shied away from them. Oh, she was very aware of the other mutants around her and from time to time her anger welled up inside and she would destry something. Jean was her sister. The only one she would ever had and they destroyed her. Tears flowed freely down her cheeks. Looking out the window onto this little town, she realized she would soon have to hit the pavement to find those that did it. She could read their minds, albeit once in a while there was a wall. What she wanted was one to slip and give her just a glimpse. Throwing her shoes on, she locked the door and headed west. The school was around there somewhere and that would be as good a place as any today. After all, she was a mutant and the school was for that race in particular. What would she find when she got there? She wasnt sure but she sure hoped they were prepared.

He had touched her without consequence.

His battered body laid crumpled in the sands while a crowd collected around her. It would not be long before the mob mentality overtook the on-lookers. She just beat four men without breaking a sweat. The fear would seize them soon. The shock was already beginning to fade.

Grasping his body up into her arms, she ran like the wind. The distance, nice for a leisurely stroll, wore down her legs as she carried the extra weight. She couldn't help wondering why her contact had no effect on him.

Running up the front walk, she burst through the front doors of the mansion screaming for someone to help.

Xavior

Rogue burst through the front doors, splitering the heavy wood. Xavior looked up from watering his plants and saw her hold a wounded man. It looked like he had been beaten senseless.
"He's a mutant, people were beating him." Rogue cried trying to explain herself but obviously worried over the man she was holding.
Xavior motioned to one of the many hidden elevators in the mansion. "Quickly get him to the infirmary."

Half and hour later the man was laying in bed with an IV running to his arm. He had been beaten but aside from some welts and cuts cause by the beating he was fine, and should recover after some much needed rest.

Rogue looked down at the man with a grim look on her face. Xavior looked at her, he could have read her mind to see what she seemed to be worked up about, but that was not his way.

"What's wrong Rogue?" He asked her. "You saved his life, you should not look so grim."

"He touched me," she replied. "Nothing happened."

She looked back down at the purple angry marks marring his beauty. He seemed to be so serene despite the violence that his body had endured. It was like God brought her to that spot just to save him. Or maybe it was Kismet bringing them together. Dropping down on one knee, she took his hand into hers and kissed the back of it. Dr. Xavier was quiet taking in her reverance for the sleeping mutant.

"Who are you?" she asked the unconscious man. "How can you be immuned?"

Turning her eyes back up to Dr. Xavier, she looked at him full of questions. He could pick up the single thought he felt most often from mutants...How can humans be so cruel.

Mirain suddenly dropped him as a vibration in the earth sent her flying backwards. Just as she was about to hurt herself, she levatated to the ground softly. He WAS strong, she marched up to him and looked him in the eye slightly scared of his swords.
" Who are you?!"

They had begun by walking arm in arm but soon it became a race to the lake. Natalie ran with Peter close behind her threatening to catch up. She had a suspicion he had let her win as she now stood before him, laughing and catching her breath, he put his arms around her waist and looked down at her and the moment changed from playful and innocent to something more intimate. "I have so much fun with you, Peter." she said softly. "You easier for me to be around than the others, you don't act afraid by what I can see or do. I really like that about you."
