The clone wars have begun. Returning to the Jedi after his secret wedding to Padme in Naboo, Anakin is greeted by Obi-Wan Kenobi whose investigation has revealed a plot by the separatist. A mad scientist has positioned a secret lab on one of the moons of the planet he just left behind. The biological weapon being developed by the scientist are having an effect on all the inhabitants of Naboo. The toxic fumes appear to be an aphrodisiac to most humanoids. Padme is there without his protection.

The Jedi must return to the planet to save the population from the intoxicating waste, from the lab and most of all from each other.

Marius was half asleep with his ship on auto pilot when a sudden blast awakened him.

Padme

Staring up into the dusty sky, Padme saw a flash of light near the lower moon. It looked kind of like a falling star. The cool cement of the railing pressed into her bare forearms as she leaned over the rail. Squinting, she couldn't really tell if it was really a star or not. She did note that a strange red color streaked through the sunset again and the natural creatures were unusually loud.

Pulling her robe tightly against an odd chill, she returned to her chambers to change. Her maidens would object if she roused them. No, she would dress herself and find someone to take with her. Maybe one of the guards. Considering how inappropriate her behavior was, she would chose someone she could trust...someone who could keep quiet. Something was out in the night that wasn't right. She could feel it in the wind.

Parn laid the cards down with a wide grin. "Six Daktars, guess my luck is getting better by the second." The other guard on overnight watch simply rolled his eyes and tossed his cards down. Without another word Parn scooped up the few credits lying on the small nightstand they were playing on and pocketed them. A dim beep emited from the empty helmet on the table, and the other guard gestured twoards the Ambassador's quarters.

"Sounds like your up, Parn"

Fitting the helmet on his head and adjusting the blaster on his belt, Parn stepped twoards the door and knocked. Very odd that the Ambassador wanted anything this late at night..

In dark cloak over more practical field gear, Padme slipped a sporting blaster into a holster. She pulled the hood up to cover her identity and protect her against the insects attracted by the lake. She stood just outside the door to her personal balcony. Pacing, she hit the call button again for Parn. She was anxious to leave. She prayed he would cooperate. He was quiet and keep to himself. Oddly, he had that same look of discontent she sometimes felt trapped by her duties. He may come along just for the adventure.

Hearing his footsteps on the stone floor, she called to him in a hush whisper.

"I need you to pretend I dismissed you for the night. Collect some supplies and then go below my balcony. When you are there, make a call like a shaak. I will jump down to you. Please be prepared to catch me. I'll explain the rest later. I trust you to keep silent. Can you do this for me, Parn?"

Parn raised an eyebrow as he listened to the Ambassador's request. What sort of mission would require her to sneak off? Maybe it was to meet up with the Jedis against.. either way, He had a bad feeling about this..That old familiar commanding look she gave him stopped his trail of thinking.

"At once, Ambassador. I'll be back shortly."

His being dismissed only garnered a nod from the other guard outisde when informed, and Parn casually started gathering the supplies that would be needed, fitting into two large sadllebag-like containers. Unfortunatly signing out any vehicle would be suspicous, so Parn placed the bags on his worn speeder bike and glided over twoards the offical residences.

Stopping a distance away, Parn carefully sneaked twards the ground under Amidala's balcony before he realized.. he had no idea what a "Shaak" sounded like. A Blastech BL-4 he could recite factory specs; Parn wasnt much into creatures. Making an odd face, he started a low growl mixed with a bit of hooting, hoping it was somewhat close.

Both of the Orion's engines had over heated and exploded, crippling his ship."Shit"He muttered to himself as he strapped himslef into his seat.He pulled back on the control stick trying to land as "softly" as he could."Impact in 30 seconds" the computer blinked."No shit"he yelled to the computer. The countdown of the computre began and so did Marius' bracing for impact. He tightened his seat belt and covered his head.A brillant flash was seen for miles as Orion crashed into the ground.

Marius was dazed but not unconcious. He unstrapped himself and began to look around. There was a sharp pain in his neck and some sort of fluid was on his head.He slid his hand on his head and found the fluid to be his own blood. Now to the problem of his neck,he felt around the area but when he touched it,the shrapnel slid further in.He grabbed his blaster, his knapsack, his brother's lightsaber and some food and left his smoldering ship. The last thing he saw before collapsing was two figures heading toward him.

Padme heard a growling and hooting sound. Realizing no real animal sounds like that, he rolled her eyes and smiled. Poor guy, he isn't from Naboo. He may not know what a shaak was. She took in a deep breath before running full force across the balcony and swinging over to trust he would be there to catch her.

With a soft thud, she landed into his arms. Briskly, she pushed away look for a vehicle.

"Where is our vehicle?" she asked in a hushed voice. "We need to go in that direction...it is too far to walk"

She pointed toward the lower moon.

"Did you get the supplies?"

occ:sorry, thunder, we will catch up.

Parn looked up into the pale moons just in time to see a dark form vault over the railing above. Practiced reflexes had him catching the Amabssador's supple form, and easing her to her feet.

"Where is our vehicle?" she asked in a hushed voice. "We need to go in that direction...it is too far to walk"

Parn pointed over to his speederbike parked under a willowy looking offbrown tree. "My speeder is over there, Ambassador; the best I could do on short notice." He replied in whisper. he continued doing so as they walked twoards it. "The supplies you requested are in those saddleboxes. I know it is not my place to ask, Ambassador, but if this is of a mission of urgency, should not your head of guards be here? Maybe the young Jedi student and his master.."

Although it was dark, the glare she gave him was nearly flowing off her. "Your secret is safe with me, Ambassador. We would not be very effective personal bodyguards if we were blind to the attentions you and Jedi Skywalker have."

Parn climbed into the drivers saddle and locked his feet into the accelerators. With a lopsided grin he offered a hand. "Shall we be going, Ambassador?"

Jinn sat still and at apparent peace. Cross-legged, force energy crackling in the air around her. She was preparing herself, focusing her will for the coming struggle.

Too much energy was being expanded upon this one planet. Her lekku twitched.

Master Kenobi and Master Skywalker had sent Jinn here to further their investigations into troubles on this planet. She presumed they were also en route here as well, and it was implied at least one other jedi was coming here as well.

Her lekku twitched again. To send so many Jedi to one planet, in separate columns like this ... something was wrong, and Jinn was worried.

She pulled the energy back within herself, and sighed. She rose smoothly, and walked to the viewscreen. Naboo was there in its glory. And its danger. Jinn wasn't exactly sure what she would face, having been informed that a Separatist plot was in place, and she was to perform further investigations. She had the nagging feeling her presence was intended to draw Separatist fire to allow other, more experienced Jedi to destroy them.

She shook her head to clear it. It would not do to be distracted at a time like this. She returned to the cockpit of the shuttle, and undocked from the hyperdrive ring. It would remain in orbit until she was ready to leave.

The shuttle descended quietly through Naboo's atmosphere, gently coming to rest on a plain beside a river. Some distance away there was a small Gungan encampment. She would have a walk ahead of her ... but she saw no reason to land at the Royal Palace, and call too much attention to her arrival. Even if she was intended to draw the enemy's fire.

Captain Thrate glanced up as General Virrado finished her meditation and went to the cockpit of the Republic shuttle. The clone shrugged, and returned to the task of meticulously cleaning his repeating blaster.

The Separatists' threat to the world of Naboo was taken very seriously. Between the planet being the homeworld of the Chancellor, and the grudge held by the Confederacy of Indepent Systems' leadership council (and the Trade Federation in specific) for the actions of their young representative to the Republic's Senate, it was an important target.

So, the Jedi High Council had dispatched several Jedi to the world. The Republic had likewise sent one of the dangerous Agressive Recon Commandos to the world to lend a hand. So, he was aboard the shuttle with the most untested of the Jedi.

At the slight jolt accompanying the separation of the shuttle from it's hyperspace ring, A-38 gave his rifle one last glance. As the shuttle moved through the atmosphere, the clone trooper finished gearing up. He moved to the exit ramp, and was settling his helmet on his head as the general arrived from the cockpit. He nodded at the Jedi woman.

"After you, General Virrado." he said, voice sounding tinny due to the helmet as he hefted his primary weapon.

Devin of Kardeen

Devin of Kardeen eyed the signs on the computer aboard his small scout spacecraft. From what he read there was only small signs of life where he was about to land. He had been told that one jedi had allready arrived on Naboo and it was critical that he would make contact with her. He had never met her before as they seemingly had served on different planets. The only thing he knew of her was that she was a Twi'lek named Jinn.

Devin steered his craft down. Nearly hitting the treeline. He aimed at the clearing in between some trees. The craft landed smoothly. Even though Devin was the firsts of the planet Kardeen that had travelled in space in over two centuries, he was an expert pilot.

As all Kardeenians he was tall and slender with skin almost as a human only drawn to the blueish direction. It was his eyes that drew most attention. They where pure black, with no visible pupils. his shoulder long hair matched his eyes perfect in blackness.

He exited his craft and eyed the surroundings. He had a bit to walk until he reached the Naboo capital. He started to walk towards the trees.

Every nerve bristled at the mention of Anakin's name. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the guard. No one must know of their marriage. It would destroy Anakin. The Jedi were the only family he has known since the death of his mother. Despite all the love she had for him, she knew in her heart of hearts it would not be enough if he were exiled from the Jedi.

She considered Parn's questions about her choice in companion and chose to ignore them. The other guards would not take such a risk with her. Anakin was probably fighting on the outer rim. There was no one else to help her respond to this crazy notion. How do you get others to follow an instinct blindly. Fearing he would back out, she steeled her expression to willful purpose.

"Shall we be going, Ambassador?"

"You may call me, Padme," she responded while taking his hand. "My position could drawl unwanted attention if we cross an enemy's path and Parn...thank you."

Encircling her arms around his waist, Padme rested her head against his solid muscular back. It had been too long without Anakin. She inhaled the rich musky scent only a man can produce. Masked by the night, she tightened her grip while the land passed underneath their feet.

Rathe Shows Up...

"Another Day, Another credit..." Rathe murmured to himself as he descended from orbit over Naboo. His ships computer bleeped a few times at him as he reached under the visor of his flight helmet to wipe the sleep from his eyes that had accumulated as he napped his way through hyperspace.

"A Ship has been detected Reverting to realspace," The computer's voice droned. Rathe powered up the passive sensors, detecting the energy signature of a small shuttle using a hyperspace ring.

"Huh... don't see many of those, 'cept the ones the council uses. Wonder if that's my contact?"

Rathe adjusted the flight controls and set his ship, the Crystal Dawn, on an aproach vector that would let him shadow the descending shuttle, just in case it ran into trouble. He scratched himself, trying to adjust the flight harness that pulled up against his groin when he slumped in the chair, sleeping.

"It'll be great to stretch my legs, once I get planet side," he said to himself as he guided his larger gunship to the planet's surface. "Who knows... I hear the locals tend to be pretty friendly. This is the last time I take a job without knowing who hired me."

He shook his head, clearing the last of the cobwebs from his nap, setting down, then opening the cockpit. Reaching under the seat, he pulls his trusty blaster Carbine from it's space, powers it up, and then hops to the ground. His eyes scan the vacinity as he pulls his comlink from his belt, thumbs it on the specific frequency the middleman told him to use, and gave the code phrase.

"The darkness moves when your back is turned."

(( OOC: anyone who wants to recieve that signal, feel free, not really sure who my contact is, but I'll roll with just about anything. ))

Jinn nodded at the clone trooper, her lekku twitching nervously. For all that she was a youngster, a Jedi who had only recently completed her training, she had conservative views regarding what was life. A clone was a creation, something to be used but not trusted. She knew that her views were not really apt, as the Republic's survival depended now on these soldiers.

She exited the shuttle, taking in the atmosphere of the planet. She had been on Dantoine, at the ruins of the old Jedi enclave where she had received her first training. She had been to Coruscant as well of course, to the main Jedi temple. She had never been to Naboo, and the smell, the flow of Force .. she was taking it in. Getting used to it.

"Well. Shall we off?"

She managed a thin smile at the clone trooper, and began walking. She remained open to the flow of the Force. She had little talent as of yet in controlling the Force herself, but even Master Yoda had remarked at her great sensitivity to its flow. She had great potential, if she could only keep herself alive.

There. Still at a distance, too much of one to read intentions. But there was a distinct eddy in the Force. She allowed her mind to keep track of the progress of this disturbance .. likely a Jedi.

Parn guided the old speeder thru the dense trees surrounding the Capital area more on reflex then the navisensor onboard. Soon they were travelling over the wide green rolling fields, occasionally pockmarked by craters from the battle with the Trade Federation years ago. The cool breeze of evening felt good across his face, and allowed him to try and not think much about the warm young lady clenched behind him in a tight grip.

At first, when Parn joined the Guards, protecting Padme was more akin to watching over a hot headed younger sister, eager to jump feet first into a situation before thinking. But as she grew up it was hard not to notice the stunningly beautiful woman who developed. Parn tried not to think much of the one time Padme had accidently hit the panic button in her personal baths, having him charge into a quite nude bubbly Ambassador with blaster in hand. he had to admit on lonely nights in his single quarters such thoughs wre pleasing..

He shook himself of those thoughts yet again and pointed forward twoards a barely visible column of smoke over a large green hill. "Looks like maybe a craft of some type crashed, Am.. er Padme. Is this your destination? Should we investigate?"

Captain Thrate

A-38 gave little sign that he noticed the Jedi's nervousness around him.

He carefully surveyed his surroundings, senses and instincts constantly weighing potential threats.

"Well. Shall we off?"

"Yessir."

He followed after the jedi woman, after considering offering to take point. On one hand, he had training in this, but on the other hand, the Jedi had mysterious senses and abilities. He mentally dismissed the matter, content to follow the general's lead.

OOC:Just wanted everyone to know I'm still bleeding from the head here so...............someone mind coming to my aid?

"Looks like maybe a craft of some type crashed, Am.. er Padme. Is this your destination? Should we investigate?"

To overcompensate for how relaxed she had been, Padme snapped into action afraid Parn would know where her thoughts had been. She jumped down from the speeder and rushed over to the crash. The scattered wreckage was too damage to be from a simple loss of control. Her eyes were drawn to a huge hole blown in the side of the Orion. This must have been the burst of light she saw by the lower moon. Why did something attack the ship in Naboo airspace. The planet was generally peaceful as the war had not yet reached them or so she had believe. She looked up into the sky, but only saw a peaceful blanket of stars.

Striding toward the wreckage, she took in the sum of the damage and the billowing black smoke pouring from thethe ship. It felt deserted. Obviously, whoever was piloting had gotten out of the wreckage. She turned to look around for a trail.

"Parn," she called not realizing he was so close behind her. "oh!"

Parn nodded his head toward the injuried pilot. The body was not far from where they stood. She touched Parn's arm motioning for him to circle around the feet while she went to the head. Crouched, the crept toward the body quietly scanning it for life. His chest rose and fell slowly.

Bleeding heavily from the head, the humanoid was unconscious. Padme kneeled to take a better look at the gash. The cut was clean with no shrapnel inside the flesh. Quickly, she torn a strip of cloth from her cloak and tied it tightly around the injury closing the wound. Meanwhile, Parn frisked his bodies for weapon finding a DL-44 blaster pistol which he stuck into his waist band and then, he pulled out a lightsaber. Parn thrust it forward for Padme to look at his meaning clear without words.

"Odd, he doesn't look like Jedi?," she stated taking the lightsaber from Parn.

She looked back down at the injured one. Taking off her cloak, she threw it on the ground beside the body. Jedi or not, he may have answers.

"We can't take any chances. Let's get to some shelter close by and wait for him to wake up. We'll find out what is going on," she said aloud with false bravado as fear lingered in her expression.

Grabbing the end, Parn began pulling the body toward the speeder. They would got to mountains ahead. Padme paused looking up into the night sky again breathing in deeply. A strange sweet smell hung in the air and stuck on her skin like pollen leaving an orange red powder. Her head felt light as she sneezed. Then, she covered her mouth and nose with her shirt collar.

"Cover your breath holes, Parn!" she exclaimed walking double time to catch up with him. "The air..."
