It is the year 2207. Marriage having nearly collapsed as an institution under the weight of radical feminism, expectations of monogamy, expensive divorces, and the sheer bureaucratic red tape involved, the corporations have contracted out from the various national and local governments to take over the matter. Several businesses have become matchmakers, arranging marriages for people who hire them to do so.

There are a great deal of options available, including polygyny, polyandry, combination of polygyny and polyandry, open marriage, non-specific marriages(ones that wink at extramarital affairs by default), same-sex marriage, and traditional monogamy, with various contracts available. Some are for life, some for shorter terms and can be renewable.

French Ambassador to the UN Dr. Edmond Jasteaux has a French-Canadian wife, specifically chosen for his term while in New York. Now, however, he is about to return to Paris to become a candidate for the National Assembly. He is not sure about whether he wishes to renew his marriage contract with Danielle, to whom he married with a short-term, non-specific contract (it made no sense to raise fidelity issues at all over such a temporary marriage).

He has taken an occasional other woman to bed, but not that many women. Mostly high-class escorts, whom he could trust to be discreet. He is pretty sure that Danielle has done so, but he can't prove it and he is not worried about it. It is a 2 year marriage and the expiration is up next month, shortly after he was to leave for France. He really likes her, but doesn't see her really sticking around, given her ambitions to be an actress, now that her fashion model career is starting to get dull.

He is considering remarriage or simply staying single, which a small minority still do, despite the marital reforms. He sleeps with women when he has the time and energy, the main reason that he has never followed custom by taking a mistress. Having a wife and few call girls are fine, but two regular women....well, now, with more available time, perhaps he'd consider. The practice by no means died out with corporate matrimony. It just fit into the non-specific and open marriage contracts.

Danielle is going to be played by raisedSkirt, who I hope to see start posting now that this IC thread is up.

Danielle Louise Jasteaux:

Danielle, born Danielle Louise Lefark is a strikingly attractive young lady, 28 years old with very fair hair, almost a light gold in color which she wore straight in long, beautifully conditioned strands that stretched to just below her shoulders. Her beauty was further enhanced by crystal blue eyes, a small nose and angular jaw line that accented her soft lips that to both men, and not a few women, were irresistible.

Her slim figure coupled to a modest height of almost five feet seven inches more than compensated for relatively small, pert breasts, and as often whispered by friends of her distinguished diplomat husband, she had a derriere “to die for”. It was not surprising to her family and friends when she became a very successful fashion model at an early age

Interestingly enough, if you had mentioned to Danielle that you thought she was beautiful, her face would immediately turn a deep crimson, and she would chide you softly, and quite seriously, for joking with her. Danielle was one of those rare women that could not see her own beauty, and faced the world with a certain degree of genuine innocence.

She had been amazed when she had been selected, and approached by a corporate matchmaker to consider an initial date with Dr. Edmond Jasteaux which had then resulted several weeks later, in a two year, short-term marriage, and a more permanent move to New York City from her home town of St-Etienne-de-Gres, a small township located almost mid-way between Montreal and Quebec.

The contract had stipulated several conditions requested by the senior diplomat who was about to celebrate his 54th birthday. It had to be understood that it was a short-term marriage agreement, and that at the end of the two year term, Dr. Jasteaux would be free to end the agreement without penalty. Danielle would be given a more than reasonable stipend for her services but it also had to be understood by her that there could be nothing further, and any extension of the agreement or new agreement would be entirely the choice of the Doctor.

Dr. Jasteaux had also stipulated a number of private conditions attached to the main agreement, sealed by a court of law, and which could never be utilized in any dispute that might arise. The conditions included a commitment on the part of Danielle to be open-minded in several areas related to intimacy, and to accept certain freedoms that her husband would be able to claim if so desired. These freedoms included sleeping with other women at times although it would be discreet if it ever occurred, and was never actually mentioned by either Danielle or Dr. Jasteaux although if truth be known, he had indeed slept with a number of high-class but discreet escorts.

Danielle’s sexual orientation often troubled her. Prior to her modeling career taking off mainly through a series of shoots for a major fashion magazine, her sexual orientation had been fairly standard for her age; giving her virginity to a local boy at the age of 17, progressing through a series of relationships involving close intimacy with a limited number of both local males and male students at university (she had dropped-out of school after two years bored with French Literature, and university life in general); finding herself seduced by a closet lesbian at the age of 20 on a visit to relatives in France, and discovering a liking for some of the more unusual aspects of sex including being spanked on her bare bottom by her close girl friend.

Since that time, Danielle had pursued several lesbian relationships both before and after her marriage to Dr. Desmond Jasteaux, not really feeling guilty about such affairs as she knew from her female instincts that her husband was certainly sleeping with other women.

Although she enjoyed the special relationship that develops between two women, she also enjoyed her husband, and the strong act of penetration that to her signaled fulfillment, a needed domination at times, and what she felt was the ultimate act of love between a man and a woman, and she was now very fond of her husband whether this could be described as love or not.

But it troubled her as to how a person could be both attracted to certain males and also love her own sex. Intimacy was such a complicated subject, and many times, Danielle simply gave-up trying to resolve the issue.

The agreement between her and her husband would expire in just a few weeks, and she did not want to end the relationship but was unsure how to go about the task of making him want to continue from his point of view. Life could be so difficult and complicated at times. One thing that she was sure of was her determination to continue living with Desmond whatever it might take on her part to extend or renew that contract.
