I wrote something!

I did!

I only went and bloody wrote something!

I had a break from it for about three months, but the bug bit me again and I'm back to pounding away on the keyboard. I'd lost the thrill that writing had given me before, so I didn't force it; I consciously decided to take a break, knowing it would return in its own good time, and it has! For me, this deserves a :nana:

Just in time for NaNo! :nana:

(In fact, I'm pretty sure it's that which got me all excited about writing something again).

I'll be entering what I've written into the Halloween contest. It's a fantasy piece, set in another world, in some dank, old catacombs. Seems fitting. :D It's also the first of a series, so it should keep me going for a while.

What about anyone else, have you taken breaks from writing, only to return with new vigour and new ideas?

Lou

Hot Damn Lou!

Can't wait to read it.

Wonderful to see your smilin face again.

Double dancin nana's

:nana: :nana:

How ya been, gorgeous?

I'm just excited that the Brit is back!

I've missed you, my sister.

I am actually in mid writing even now. 3 pieces at once.

A fairy tale, a Saint (the Simon Templar kind not the cannonized religious icon kind) rip off and a exploration of inner voices.

Congrats Lou! *tight hugs* (just cause I like crushing up against you :D )

Yay, lou-lou!

So glad your muse has returned. Has she a sister to send my way? Still dry over here.

I, too, am so happy to see your smiling face.

I haven't written anything since..........February......started something, almost finished, just can't get there.......along with the other 6 or 7 in my pending file.

Maybe when life settles down a tad and I'm more settled, I'll be able to concentrate long enough on one thing to just damn well finish them all.

I live in hope.

Welcome back, sexy. You've been missed.

SLAG!!!!!

I miss you. Good to see you're not pissing about being droll.

Abs.

Welcome back Lou...and congrats on finding the inspiration once again.

best regards....amicus...

Glad you got that ol writing feeling back. :nana:

I'm unofficially on a break, but more because of time constraints with my new job and the usual stresses involved rather than losing my 'mojo :D I find I have to do a lot more exercise to keep me sane, which means I'm often too worn out to write.

I've taken a break from writing, but unlike you Lou, the interest hasn't returned yet. I'm sure it will in time however, meanwhile how have you all been doing? Well, I hope?

From the cold corner of my world, which isn't so cold considering my current AV is not wearing much, WELCOME THE HELL BACK - however briefly you stay. I knew you'd never resist Nano, good luck with that one.

I was just recently talking with Lauren regarding writing and she quoted Bret Easton Ellis in saying,

"The writing routine when I'm working on a novel is that I like to stay on a schedule. I like to get up and start work along the same time my friends are going to work, then quit and go out to dinner. If you're going to write that day you really need to be inspired and engaged by the material. You can't just sit down and force yourself. The book is going to be bad, the writing is going to bad."

Its only one quote from a larger article, but it goes a long way in reflecting your sentiment, and I think reflecting many writer's feelings on the topic.

BIG KISS!

Know what you mean Lou Lou! Ive been barren for ages now, fire up word open one of my part done docs and sit and stare at it like a gonk then close it and do something else!

Good to see your juices are flowing again ;)

Hi Lou,
I too have been away from writing for quite some time now, but I feel like I am on the brink of picking it up again - ideas are stirring and I feel like getting some of them down on paper. I sort of hope I can find some of the fun and inspiration again!

Glad you got back into it too! :rose:

It's a funny old world isn't it? Since writing the above I've submitted three new stories. Go figure. :)

Hi Lou,

Nice to see you're back.

As for taking a break. I hadn't written in about 5 months. Too much stuff going on in the off-line world to concentrate. But I was terribly happy when I could sit down and write again. My first real new story is in the Halloween Contest too.

Maybe it's something to do with ghosts? LOL

Welcome back. :)

My writing has gone in waves for as long as I can remember writing. I just keep hoping the waves will stay smaller. ;)

Best of luck for NaNo! :rose:

Had a bit of a dry spell but am now working on two. One for a friend and a longer one dealing with a younger lady dealing with her awakening sexuality after living through a hurricane. (Kind of fitting considering where I live don't you think?)

Cat

P.S. Welcome back.
