I would love to hear what people think of someone else's stories.

Yes, it's wonderful to get feedback on our own efforts. I'm guilty of begging for it myself.

But you know, it's wonderful to see someone put up a thread about someone else's story. I don't spend much time reading the stories, too many new ones anymore. What I do like is when I see someone who has taken the effort to put up the story and perhaps a link to one they read and they liked. It gives me a chance to read something people enjoyed enough to talk about it. Generally that means it's a damned good story and I don't have to surf the site, looking for something that's not tripe.

Beg for feedback all you like, don't stop doing that if you don't want to. Post news about your latest endeavor all you like. Nothing like advertising. Put up self-congratulatory threads and threads thanking people for feedback or berating people for nasty feedback.

Just, while you're at it, put up feedback for other people, too. There are over 11,000 stories on this site. Surely you've read something out there that's worth a kudo or a second read or more.

And yes, I do it myself. Not terribly frequently, but I put up more threads about other people's work than my own.

I agree with Killer Muffin!
But instead of starting a new thread about someone's work, ( i don't check the new stories, sorry I am too busy with all the things going on in my life) I come here frequently, checking out newbies who want feedback. I know that feedback is so important and want to encourage new writer's.
But I am quite shy myself and don't always reply.
So if you are a new writer and you read this, take heed that a lot of us care (readers and writers alike - I'm a writer) that new writers are encouraged but we don't always have the time to read and respond. Perserverse and don't give up. Have faith!
Thank you killermuffin! And all you other kind people who take your time to respond and encourage new writer's.
Debbiexxx

I've posted a few plugs, and endorsed others. I've also touted for feedback, with generally negative results. Ah me.

Some authors I've enjoyed, and this is a tiny selection, off the top of my head (but I've been good and checked the URLs!)

Almost anything by Cockatoo, but if you want specifics, try
Strap On Something New (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=18334) or
4768, or, The Thingy (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=11296)

CreamyLady's Still Life With Teeth (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=2581)

Tristmegistis' Killer Cop (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=3159) - a powerfully written and absorbing tale in several parts (the URL is for part 1), but I'm still not certain whether I liked it.

Your own Coming Home (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=5638) and
The Gathering Night (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=3261), but just to keep it even, I didn't care for Lusty Blue Eyes/Lusty Brown Eyes - I didn't like the characters. The only stories of yours I never finished.

There are plenty more, but it's late and I'm tired and I'll check them another time.

Alex

Feedback

I agree with everyone on this. Particularly when I have read a very well written story, or even one that is simply exciting. (Depends on my mood I guess). But when I do read one like that, I send Feedback to the person who wrote the story to tell them specifically what it was that I liked about it.

And while we're on that subject, if you get a chance, drop in and read some of the stories by "Sensuous Story Teller". She's got some good one's out there too.

To sleep.......Perchance to Dream - William Shakespear

thanks to Sandman

Fist I would like so much to thank The_Sandman4U for recommending my work. I am sincerely flattered. I met him by e-mailing to him, offering feedback and thanks for his fantastic story that one first prize for July's contest.

Thanks so much Sandman... but I would also like to correct my writing handle so if anyone is searching for my work by handle they can do so.

It is Sensuous Storyteller

It is my turn to bring notice to a writer I have enjoyed very much and that is LadyPhoenix. I have read through her list and found them witty, fun and arousing. I hope you all enjoy them too!

Sensuous Storyteller (mistygirl)

OK Killer. Your "Dice Fishing." is one of the stories that I have downloded for easier reread. I loved it.

I am not a poetry buff, but did like your "RAGE!"

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Anything by Gaucho is delicious. When I read his stuff, I feel like I'm savoring a fine wine. Here's his author page:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=1596

I also enjoy reading Mickie's writing. His male characters in particular hold great appeal for me. They're usually powerful and unabashedly masculine. This story, "Dark Seduction," is non-consent, however, so if you don't relish that genre, don't read this.

Great Recommendations

Wow, I am so impressed at these recommendations! They are all so very wonderful. Thank you guys for sharing and for also, sharing you're own stories.

I truely must bow down to some of the greatest story-tellers I for one have ever come across. I hope that I may learn from such wonderful artists.

Enchanttress ;)

I haven't been on this site long. And have only read a few stories. I came across Debbiexxx's storiesand poems. I thought her stories were very well written. The characters were believable and so were the storylines. I found myself imagining what was happening was real. She seems to be able to capture the persons personality and describe what they look like, what they feel, the sex scenes, etc till it seems so very realistic.
Her poems were very thought different too, ranging from thought provoking to erotic.
I dunno what else to say but her stories and poems are well worth reading.

Small samples...

Weird Harold/Dirty Old Man's "How I Met my Wife" is a well-written light read, romance style. Lost love with a sense of humor, a tough concept to make work so well.
His page: http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=2173

Nessus has done some good tales, it's well worth the time to look at a few. Especially, as everyone seems to know, "Famous Blue Raincoat."
His page: http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=28038

Madame Pandora did some great work while she was here. Dammit, I miss her. Check out her page, especially "Pecan Sandies" and "A Muse, Ed."

Blueboar

Okay, I did what most of you have done...I started a new thread on this a couple of days ago, when it really should have been added here! Ah well...

I just stumbled across blueboar.

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=14417

I love anything by Whispersecret and I agree with her assesments of Gaucho and Mickie, but what I find fun about our site is that there is so much stuff here. Every once in a while, I am delighted by reading something well-written by an author I've never heard of. Blueboar is one of those.

This is some of the best erotica I've read on the site. If you love well-developed characters and an author that will get you inside their heads and bodies...if you love well-told tales that paint the settings with vivid imagery...if you love an erotic, teasing tale with plenty of twists and turns that gets hotter by the page...

...then you will love blueboar's stuff.

Some of the elements that I really like about his writing is the upper middle-class, suburban setting, the parents who are so wrapped up with their possesions and something about blueboar's voice that appeals to me. It feels familiar, yet cleverly different.

I read "Big Brother's Bride" from the "New" Stories listing, then went to his page and read "Saved", "Tammy & Jane", "This Way" and "Claire." All of his pieces are well-written, funny and erotic. Yes, there are little misspellings, etc., but it's easy to overlook these minor transgressions in the midst of the good writing.

One more thing...he does something that I am always trying to do in my stories. He "comes in late" and "gets out early." He doesn't go on too long setting something up or paying it off forever, he usually starts in the middle to end of the setup and let's us discover what has happened as the action progresses. Good going, BB.

As I run short of superlatives, all I can add is...read it, you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the Lead Judo........

I'm always "up" for something new fun and exciting........

That's another one of the great things about this format, reading other writers stories often gives me ideas for a new one as well.

And besides........it's fun to think and dream about them too isn't it?

stories

Hi KM,
I think it's a great idea to hear about people's favorites, it helps solve the problem of too many stories ever to check out.
I think it should be a feature, like a column; an experienced poster or writer gives his or her favorites.
Reading back on this thread, however, I realize it's more than that, though sometimes a name is nice to try. What's needed is like in a review, though it could be done in five to ten lines. A bit about the story; reasons why it's good; and maybe who it might appeal to.
A couple authors come to mind, Tawny T, and nessus. The former for her eroticism, the latter for his(?) depth of insight and flowing prose. Tawny H is also good, though extreme; her perverse mind has its appeal.

newbie, thrilled to find this thread

Big high five to Judo to turning me on to this thread.

Think it needs to be updated. :D

I'm tech challenged. I hate doing searches. Besides, I don't know your styles, how do I begin to seek out the things I like?

Recommendations are a great way to go. Post a shout out for your favorite authors.

BTW, anybody giving the poets some play? :(

Look out, chatty newbie on the loose!

Peace,

daughter

Hi ppl,

I don't know how 2 post links:( sorry but my favorite stories right now are A New Beginning & Sexy Surprise by HotLisaG & Forest of Desire by mlyn.

Searching & Posting

Newbies, it easy -

Searching
To post links to stories you like for this thread, to to:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/index.php

Then about three-quarters of the way down that page, you will see "Search Members." Click that and you will be taken to:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/member_search.php

Towards the bottom of the stuff to search for, you can search by author or title. Even if you don't really remember the exact name or title, just type in what you do know, like "HotLisaG" under 'username':

You will be taken to a link for her member's page:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=26180

...which has all of her submissions listed!

The link for HotLisaG's story "A New Beginning" is:

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=20158

Oops! Almost forgot mlyn's story "Forest of Desire"

http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=21030

And...sorry, daughter, but searching is a fact of life with over 11,000 stories on this site and ten billion web sites all over the www.

Posting Links
Now, all of these links contained in this post were simply copied from the page where the information resided. Of course, you can simply type the address in the body of the text like this http://www.literotica.com and it will show up as well.

If you look at the bottom of a post reply page (like the one I'm typing on now), you will see a little check mark next to "Automatically parse URLs."

This is nerd-talk for "If anywhere in a post, you type an Internet address, it will automatically create an html link in the post." See? Simple?

Only took me two months to figure that out myself the first time. *grins*

A few FEEDBACK examples: How BLESSED it is to give & get per GOLDEN RULE!

I learned so much by hindsight as I read it and wept at my own sillyness:
Feedback for Hecate on Roleplay Online (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=12301)

Heavenly Hecate, (http://mistresshecate.tripod.com/ )

I gave you a PERFECT FIVE for your VERY clear explanation with explicit examples. :)

If only I'd read your guide before badly blotching my first entry into a RPG & rapid exit therefrom at the requests of members horrified by my heedless excesses in blatant violation of virtually EVERY custom outlined by Helpful Hecate!

Well, if regrets were ORGASMS . . . we'd all be richly rewarded for making MISS-takes instead of wresting wisdom wryly with . ..

LOVE, Kin Ky Ai

Here's a review I sent to a passionately pussy LOVING guy who later restarted a lost thread praising Asian ladies just to give us another place to compliment or complain about his lust for savoring sweet oriential dishes:
Mischievous Miskeivitch, ;)

Of course I've given this chapter of your wonderful novel, "Mellow Yellow," (http://literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=5768) the FIVE vote it so richly deserves. You're a far more literary author than I!

The subtlety of your character development for even bit players like Syd and Lilly Poon is AWESOME! I also loved your punny names like "Shagnasty" and your incredible wealth of background on Chinese culture counterpointed with British humor.

I can clearly see how you've journeyed on to the cunt-in-end of Erotica whereas I'm still mucking about in the sewers of Porno Land.

Sayonara, Kin Ky Ai

Another SEX-ample:
Sorry, Bare BearLee (& Dawn)

Today there were so many HORRIBLE problems at school caused when the techie types tried to "improve the performance" of our computer network!

Anyway, that's why it took me sooooooooooooooooo l-o-n-g to get a chance to read just one WONDERFULLY ROMANTIC chapter of your sexual saga. It was VERY NICE to be able to relax into the tender arms of such a skillfull story teller & have my worries all soothed away to be replaced by arousal. Yes! Your story DID make me MASTURBATE, stroking my wet pussy lips until my swollen clit begged to be massaged just as DAWN was so perfectly sucking you off for the BIG CLIMAX!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Masterfully controlled progression from 'an all around "Miss Priss"' to 'this wasn't the Dawn I had known in high school, the one I thought I knew, this was a new Dawn.'

Of course I gave it a well deserved FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Gotta run home now. I'll read & VOTE on the rest late tonight after social obligations I CUNT slip out of, :( though they'll be w-a-y drab compared to your horny LIFE after the NEW DAWN. (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=26487)

LOVE, Kin Ky Ai

I also give Ch. # two of "NEW DAWN" TOP MARKS, but, as with all messages in the feedback box that pops up upon clicking that link at the end of each poem or story, the text of your feedback itself gets lost to you unless you make a special effort to copy and paste it somewhere in your personal records as I serendipitously did with the three feedback messages about. - A note to the wise & reminder to my kinky self.

P.s. Whenever I get some eager ego LICKING, I always let my kinky LOVERS know how GOOD their FEEDBACK makes me FEEL! :)

Some of my favs

Wow, KinkyLOVE-- boy, are you hot! Too bad I'm in Vegas, a long way away.

Anyway, here are some of my favorite LE stories:

Biker Bar Gang Bang, by Regnar S. Reklaw
(EXTREME-- Non-Consent)
http://allextremesex.com/storyxs2/bikerbargangbang.html

and

Wet Dreams: Stranger Than Fishin', by HS & KM (Humor & Satire)
http://literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=22408

The first I find both fascinating and repellant, a very sick but also very arousing story. The second is a very witty sendup of hackneyed porn.

:p

Well I haven't read a lot of stuff yet I'm new but I really liked these by GillyBeanBaby
http://literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=54658
they are a lot more romance than sex though (course that's what I like so ...)

I really like the idea of a reviewer. Someone could write a colum, the obviously couldn't review all of them. An idea might be to recruit the winner of the monthly contest to review several stories for the next moth, they aren't going to be be biased because they can't win again. Or maybe to get more reviews they write for 6 months. Who knows. But I like the idea anyway.
