Meatloaf says, "But I won't do that."

What *wouldn't* you do for love?

I wouldn't give up my CD collection. *grin*

Excellent point, kiwiwolf. They automatically come with the package, right? Thanks.

I think this applies to me, too, so I'll give up my CD collection if I *have* to.

;)

I dont think anyone can compromise themselves for love. Yes, you can compromise aspects of your life but as soon as you give away parts of yourself only in order to facilitate love, you're sunk.

Maybe the CD collection would be a sticking point too. And my DVD collection...

Thanks modest mouse. And I'd agree. Compromising is at the heart of any relationship, in my opinion, but lose yourself, and there's nothing left that's worthwhile.

Sorry - my DVD's have seen me through good times and bad. They go with me. No compromises. And there are very few chick flicks, so that's not really an issue!

What wouldn’t I give up?
My puppy, books, cd’s, myself, actually I won’t give anything up. Why should I? What kind of love is it when it requires you to give part of yourself up?

Mr. Loaf never really explained what exactly "that" was.

Well.. I believe the lines go:

girl: "Sooner or later, you'll be screwing around"
ML: " I *won't* do that, no, I won't do that."

So I'm assuming he's answering her that he won't screw around on her. Just my opinion.

Just for arguments sake, and cause I'm bored...

What if the man you love is violently allergic to your dog?

Or he likes staying home, and you like to party out? Would you give up going out so much to sit in and watch a movie, i.e., compromise?

Thanks J.B.

For the right man...there is nothing I wouldn't do...not a damn thing.

I hope you get a hell of a man for that, calypso! Thanks.

I wouldn't compromise the core things that define who I am, no matter who it was for...

Neither would I, Johnny. I can be flexible on the debatable issues, but when it comes down to the basics, you have to stand by yourself.

Thanks.

I wouldn't give up my child for a man or anyone else.
I wouldn't give up just being me for another.
I wouldn't compromise my moral beliefs for someone.

But I also think that if it were the right person, the one, I wouldn't even have to consider any of those things.

For the love of my child.. I would do anything and everything.

I'm allergic to my dog and I still won't give her up. That's what Zertech is for. :D

Seriously what you're talking about going out & stuff is all a matter of compromise. If he loves me as much as I'm supposed to love him then he’ll be aware of how I like to spend my nights and take that into consideration just as I would.
What I would want is a relationship not to baby-sit someone who I also happen to sleep with. And someone who isn't mature to know what compromise really is. just isn't worth my time.

edited to add: This is all theoretical because so far it hasn't happened. The men I've been with have either been too immature or self involved for this theory to be tested.

That's admirable, cybergirly. I think too many people do put constraints like that on their lovers.

"If you really loved me, you would <insert unwanted task here>"

I guess the message in your post here is to wait for the right guy and don't compromise on *that*!

Thanks J.B.
