Trevor Miller had just graduated from college and was going to enjoy a summer off before starting medical school in the fall. During the last two years of his undergraduate work, he dated Rachel Summers. She was one of the most popular women on campus; beautiful, smart, funny, sociable. Her father was a big-time lawyer in the town where the college was located. She came from big money. Trevor did not. It was the only thing that made Trevor uneasy around her.
Rachel had told Trevor that he could stay with her and her parents during that summer. He had planned on getting a job and staying in an apartment, but Rachel said that her parents insisted he stay with them. That way he could enjoy his last free time for the next 10 years or so.
Trevor agreed to stay with Rachel and her parents. It was a rather uncomfortable situation. Trevor wasn't used to the easy life. One week, Rachel said that her parents asked if they could help out with a party that they were having on Saturday night. Trevor, of course, agreed. It wasn't like he really had a choice considering he was staying with them for free.
On Saturday night, Rachel and Trevor supplemented the workers that had been hired for the party. Trevor made drinks and cleaned up glasses. Rachel moved around talking with people that she obviously knew and asking them if there was anything she could get for them. Trevor didn't know a soul, so, he pretty much stood around by the bar.
He watched the people at the party. They all were obviously in the same social circle as Rachel's parents, and they were all obviously in the same economic circle as well. Most of them looked stuck up. Trevor watched the people until one of them caught his eye. She was gorgeous, and she wore a dress that accentuated her body. He watched her move around the room; talking with many of the other guests. He looked to see if her husband would join her, but nobody ever did. There was something about her that made it so Trevor could not take his eyes off of her.
