I was Just Wondering...

I know this is going to get me in trouble, but am I the only one who finds todays news paragraph on the home page of this site a little incongruous at best? I mean, it starts out with a very heartfelt and compassionate statement about the families of the people involved in the Concorde tragedy yesterday and then - without so much as missing a beat - it goes on to say that if we're interested in an adult toy or video, we might want to check out the online toy & video shoppe.

Now, I'm not saying that it's wrong or that I'm bothered by it and I'm well aware of conserving space on a website like this one, but it just seems.....strange.

Am I the only one who thinks that the juxtaposition of those two statements is a little funny?

Sorry, Laurel. Although your intent was obvious, it just kinda struck me as funny, that's all. The image it brought to mind was of two people staring at a car crash and one of them says to the other, "God, this is terrible! Those poor people!" And the other answers back, "You're so right! BTW, there's a great porn shoppe around the corner. Do you want to go in a check out their dildos?"

I apologize, madam. I never for a moment doubted your sincerety regarding the crash victims. But maybe Endlessly is right. Maybe you need to update the message once in a while just to see if anyone would notice.
