I want to get to know YOU better

The board is filled with so many new people these days, mixed with all the older members of the board.
I wonder if there's people here that would like to get to know other's better, but are hesitant.

Is there a poster that strikes your interest? A members who's posts make you laugh, touch you in some way?

I think if there's someone you would like to get to know better, say it here or do it in the privacy of a PM.

Let them know. Reach out and try and get to know them. Who knows, you might make a new friend.

As someone who is very new to the board, I find it very interesting and very addictive.

One thing that is odd is that it is very difficult to know the age /sex /location of the vast majority of posters unless you really follow lots of threads and I suppose get to know who that person is. Some are easier - some do put details on their profile. For me it would be slightly easier to get involved in discussions if I knew at least bare details. I have been in one thread where I had no idea what or whom some of the posters were.

I think that the fact that you dont know the age or location is a good thang.

If I knew what the age of my fella was before we started talking I doubt we would have gotten together.

Is that just the image they have of them on line, or are real friendships made here, where the anonymous cyber person can in fact become a real person with a real voice etc. It would be interesting to know of any cyber relationships that become real and worked !!

Lived in Ghana, Kenya and Lesotho - my folks were teachers and travelled the continent with them for 18 years

It truly is fantastic place - riddled with deep problems re violence poverty etc but as far as the beauty and depth of the country, it is great. I have family in the Cape now ( near Cape Town ) and go back whenever I can
