... just for one big holiday dinner so I know what it's like to sit around watching football while the meal is being prepared, and, more importantly, what it feels like to go sit on the couch after dinner without an ounce of guilt about not helping clean up.

Just once.

:)

Not complaining. I actually love the female companionship in the kitchen. The sharing of cooking tips, the glasses of wine, the gossip. I love it.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Ruby

You just wanna have a big Howard Johnson.:p Actually, I MUST be female. I din't watch ANY football. Well...ok. I watch a minute. I HATE THE FUCKING COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think their used to wearing black and white stripes.

Actually - for the sake of all the guys here - we'd rather you not be a man.

BTW - don't do the football thing myself...

In our house, my grandpa does almost all the cooking. We help with some of the final preperations, but other then that, he does it all. We set the table. Afterwards, the guys help clear, and put away food, then the dishes go into the dishwasher.

Yeah, I do the cooking too...

and I watch the game in the kitchen. Damn Lions got ripped off! I then wait for someone else to clean up. Usually until the next morning when I give up on it and let the dogs into the house before stuffing the dishwasher full.

We have a rule in my house.

He who cooks, does not clean. Period.

So I usually cook. Not clean. I have no guilt about watching football or anything else after dinner.

I cook therefore I do not clean. Once in a blue moon though I will do the honors of cleaning up after dinner. Not very often though.

Same rule here ... needless to say I ALWAYS clean up, otherwise everyone would be eating burnt or not fully cooked food.

Dishwashers are great things you know, best thing we bought :)

I imagine you can clean quite well? Hypothetically speaking of course.........:D

Oh my yes, I "clean" very well indeed ;)

I could take a job just "cleaning" ;)

My father in law cooked and cleaned up. I was the only one interested in watching football.

I do not do the kitchen thing, ever. Food goes in the oven, and I go into another room. I simply do not accept stereotypes - women cook, men watch tv, etc. Perfect example, I cannot sew, but my husband can. I can rewire a broken lamp or refinish a chair, he can't. Male, female, everyone helps.

I am not going to hi-jack this thread, but nice to see ya Nicole. :p

Chuckus babe, is your mind in the gutter? ;) LOL

I'm a very good cleaner babe, my Mum works full time and doesn't have time, so I do it for her, and each night after dinner it is I that does all the cleaning.

I could easily get a job cleaning, but then I'd hate it.

And Chuckus yes it's nice seeing you too.

P.S. I only wanna "clean" one man now :)

My holiday was so nice....

No lazy men.
No football in the background.
No parents to have to be quite for, while fucking.

The men here....They helped.... They really really helped....

God bless em.

I could be a man, one just like my hubby...who did not even show up for Thanksgiving dinner at my parents. I'm not really sure why it upsets me, been together for 10 years and he has made it to one holiday dinner. I would love to be able to do whatever I wanted and not feel guilty, would love to upset my wife at holiday time, would love to be an unthinking, uncaring stupid asshole all the time.

Ok, I'm done :D Can ya tell my hubby is getting on my very last nerve? If I didn't need someplace to send the kids everyother weekend, I would kill him instead of divorcing him ;)

Actually my stepfather and I made dinner. He did most of the cooking and I did most of the clean up and packing of the 'frig.
