I want a puppy!!!!

Dammit.

I've been aching to get a baby bulldog puppy for the last year. I've been looking at breeders, websites, and pictures....and have come to the conclusion to get what I want, it would run me between $1600-1800.

Needless to say that's a little much to spend for something that's going to be pissing on my carpet.

So...I've decided to do the next best thing and get a Mini Schnauzer. (breed that I've been around my entire life) Sweet dogs.

So...I do my research...find a breeder...and as luck would have it, she has a litter due on Nov. 4th.

Of course there is a waiting list...but only one person on the list who wants a male pup.

The litter is born.......and of course there is only ONE male in it out of three pups. LOL

My luck sucks ass.

I just thought I'd post here to whine about it.

I must admit I've never paid anything for any of the three dogs I've owned (two mutts and this purebred Lab {no papers}). I've not searched around this area for other breads, but I know you can get labs here for anywhere between $250-$400. I think price depends a lot on location and popularity of the breed. Labs are very popular up here, so there are always pups available. I love dogs, but I'm not so sure I would part with that much money for one.

Damn, though....Black Labs are big. lol

I'd only ever have a "house dog"...and in the same breath...house dogs aren't much bigger than a bulldog or schnauzer....(in my opinion)

Not to say that Black labs aren't beautiful. I like them and Golden Retrivers.

Oh, he's a house dog. In fact, he's a lap dog trapped in a big dog's body. Nothing like trying to type with a 70 lb dog trying sit on your lap!

I grew up with small dogs and the transition to big dogs is difficult. Can't put anything on the coffee table anymore. It either gets eaten or swept off by his tail.

A Pitt attacked my son - don't like them.

I'd love to have a Rottie too. Wonderful dogs. My friend has two mini schnausers (sp?) and I just love those cute little cusses. I'd love to have a pair of them.
