Only a Hippopotamus will do.
No crocodile.
No Rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hipp-opotamuses like me too!

What Christmas song is your favorite? Mine is 'Santa Baby' as sung by Eurtha Kit, that woman's voice is so sexy she's made me want to have intimate physical relations with a brand of peanut butter. The above comes in second though. It's the Christmas song that's the most 'me'.

This meaningless post brought to you by Christmas in the Northwest; it's a gift that's wrapped in green.

OMG, my mom was singing this to me on the phone last night! She said when I was younger I hated that song because her and my stepfather would sing it over and over and get it stuck in my head. She said they use to sing it just to get me pissed off. Then she made me ask my friends I was talking to if they knew the song:rolleyes:

Sory guysd...I hate Christmas Carols/songs....At least i dont have to listen to "Last Christmas" over here as i did in Europe.

That song could make me go out and commit random murder just for the fun of it.

And when she told me her mom wanted a hippopotamus for Christmas I wasn't quite sure how to respond. :)

LMAO, it was bad enough she told me to tell you she wanted a purple one! :p

Hehe, I forgot about it being purple... being a hippo was silly enough to throw me for a loop. ;)

I hope not Never, I hate my mother, and I happen to like you. :)

I'm okay with Christmas songs, but if I have to hear that damn Adam Sandler Turkey-Lurkey crap again, I may break something.

Mistress:

You like Bluto? Sar-wah friend?

Damn it Laurel. Why couldn't you have told me that before I ran out and bought that Turkey CD for your Christmas present?

How sweet! Just for you, I'll put that song on repeat until I scream into a pillow.

she aint no random celeb. She is an overweight annoying self righteous hipppo. If she stoped eating for one week the world food problem would end.

You don't want a hippo. They're the 2nd most dangerous animal in africa

Wanna try a little harder to offend people?

Laurel:

Turkey for you and Turkey for me.
Can't believe the Mets traded Darryl Strawberry.

Hey Laurel, I could call you on the phone and sing it to you. lavender told me tonight that I'm not tone deaf - I just can't carry a tune!

Well - this isn't a Christmas song but I can't help but post this little ditty from Lewis Carrol here:

He thought he saw a Banker's Clerk
Descending from the bus:
He looked again, and found it was
A Hippopotamus:
"If this should stay to dine," he said,
"There won't be much for us!"

And this one as well -

The Hippopotamus

"Oh, say, what is this fearful, wild,
Incorrigible cuss?"
"This *creature* (don't say 'cuss,' my child;
'Tis slang)--this creature fierce is styled
The Hippopotamus.
His curious name derives its source
From two Greek words: hippos--a horse,
Potamos--river. See?
The river's plain enough, of course;
But why they called *that* thing a *horse*,
That's what is Greek to me."

-- Oliver Herford

And while I'm at it...

Je suis comme l'hippopotame:
De ma conviction couvert,
Forte armure que rien n'entame,
Je vais sans peur par le désert.

I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs,
Oh what joy and what surprise, when I open up my eyes,
And see a hippo hero standing there

I have very fond memories of my eldest child belting that song out at the top of her lungs during a car trip a few years back. :)
